The overwhelming sense of anxiety had set in in Kadence's chest, making her breathing a bit more labored despite the fact that the fight had not even begun. A card soldier ran towards her, but even with her slight incapacitation, she managed to block and counter attack against the card.
She moved forward with a parry and swung around to slice through one of them. The top half sunk to the ground while the bottom ran around like a chicken with it's head cut off--quiet literally.
Kadence managed to dodge a few attacks, but a blow to the side caught her off guard. Twisting around, pain shot through her back and she cried out. Throwing her blade at one of the cards, she missed, but clipped another solider in the mean time. Limping off to fetch her weapon, she was barred in by two of the spears adorned by the card soldiers. A growl escaped from the ravenette's lips. Rearing back, she punched one of the cards and dodge rolled between the two.
She grabbed her blade up just in time to see another weapon swung in her face. She put her guard up again, but the weapon glanced off of hers, creating a shock effect that shook her body. She fell back and winced, glancing up to see several spears pointed at her body. Her head jolted towards the fallen Nobody and she sighed. She had failed again...
She didn't put up much of a fight as the cards picked up the two girls, only having to have about two cards per body since both girls were surprisingly light-weight even for the flimsy structures that made up the bodies of their opponents. Glancing over at Kiaix, she whispered, "Sorry..." and allowed herself to be carried off. She figured they would have to find some way to escape, but it was best not to struggle as of yet.

She cringed, gritting her teeth as they tied her bindings extra tight to ensure that there was no way for her to get out of them. She could already feel the course fibers of the rope rubbing her wrists raw, making her skin burn painfully. “You mind loosening that up a bit? It’s too tight. |
” The Card Soldier chuckled ominously before roughly shoving her forward, “ That would defeat the purpose of you being captured, now wouldn’t it? It I loosened the ties then you’d just get away, and we need you and your little friend all wrapped up nicely so you can’t pull any funny business when you stand trial in the Queen’s Court.” Well that was awfully snarky of him. But he said those words again! Something about trial in the Queen’s Court, but the way it had been said coupled with the somewhat fearful glint in his eye told her that whatever was in store for them wasn’t good. A small frown pulled at the corners of her lips when she witnessed Kadence’s own defeat and capture, well the situation certainly couldn’t get any worse than it already was. Kiaxi wasn’t one to give up easily, but for the time being she decided it was probably for the best for her to relent in her struggles and just go willingly with her captors. She didn’t have the energy to fight right now and she figured that she’d need all the energy and strength she could get in order to break free later on—but for now she needed to calm down so that she could store up her energy enough to make some sort of plan to get out of there. The dark haired Nobody picked up her head when she heard the soft voice of her companion speak, it was quiet, and almost sounded…dejected? Disappointed? Was Kadence upset with herself for being defeated? She shook her head and whispered back, “ There’s no reason to be sorry, don’t worry, we’ll figure something out…” The Card Soldiers lead them through the rose garden, bringing the two girls into a clearing, Kiaxi was roughly pushed forward until she and Kadence were both side-by-side on a raised platform that resembled a Defendant’s Box in a trial. Quirking an eyebrow, she glanced up—ahead of them was a platform raised higher than the one they were standing on. Her eyes narrowed at the plump figure sitting high above them on the platform, an unpleasant scowl etched on the woman’s face—Kiaxi noticed a small crown resting against her dark hair— oh, so she must be the Queen then…. Kadence remained limp and unmoving as they captured her and Kiaxi. The only movement she made was the wince and jerk motion due to the tightening of the ropes around her wrist. The fight was gone completely out of the teen; they were in this situation because of her and there was no escaping now. She grimaced as the ropes pulled and tugged at the bare skin of her wrists. She growled when she was jerked upwards, resulting in another harsh shove, but she went silently from there on out.
“There’s no reason to be sorry, don’t worry, we’ll figure something out…”
Kade just let out a sigh and lowered her head.
Kadence and Kiaxi were maneuvered through a maze of greenery with bright spots of red and white that must have been the Queen's roses as well. It wasn't too long before they reached an opening in the garden. A rather portly red figure greeted them, waving a heart shaped wand at the two captives. The girls were pushed beside each other onto a wooden platform. Was this a defendant's platform? Kade's head shot up when the wand down on her own desk. The girl winced and glanced at Kiaxi, but her attention was directed back at the Queen as someone yelled.
"Attention! Presiding....the Queen of Hearts!"
So this was the queen the cards spoke of so reverently, and almost fearfully. The queen's dark orbs roamed over the girls before slamming her wand back down again. "How dare you touch my roses!" Her tone calmed down dramatically as her eyelids lowered, and she waved the heart-shaped staff around. "The punishment for such a crime...." Her eyes jolted open as she screamed, "Off with your heads!"
Kade made a startled sound in her throat before speaking. "No, you can't do that! I just touched them! It was just one rose!" Kade frowned deeply, worry etched her features. It wasn't Kiaxi's fault anyways. She had only tried to defend Kade. She even saved her from the darkness earlier. A certain anger made the ravenette bunch her hands together--as much as they could move in their restraints--and she kicked at the desk in front of her, causing a major reaction from the cards. "It's totally unfair! Who says you can give that kind of punishment away?" Her head lowered. "You must be some kind of sucky queen."

welcome to oblivion; [atrb=cellSpacing,10,true][atrb=border,0,true][cs=2][atrb=style, background: url(http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a52/RynxEnvy/Decorated%20images/DarkForest.jpg); width: 450px, bTable][atrb=style,-moz-border-radius: 15px; border-radius: 15px;,true]SO MANY VOICES I CAN'T EVEN SLEEP TYPICAL LATE NIGHT COMPANY AND THOSE VOICES RIP ME ALL APART I NEED MEDICINE TO QUIET AND SURVIVE IT WELCOME TO OBLIVION, WHERE PANIC STARTS TO SETTLE IN WELCOME TO OBLIVION, OH I THINK I'M LOSING IT | [atrb=style, background: #161616; padding: 8px;-webkit-border-radius: 10px 10px 10px 10px; -moz-border-radius: 5px; opacity: 0.6] Kiaxi fixed the Queen of Hearts with an unimpressed glare, who did this woman think she was? Well, she was the Queen of this world, she supposed, but even the most corrupt royalty didn't jump so quickly to death as punishment--at least not for such a petty 'crime'. If it can even be called a crime. It was just one stupid little rose, there were hundreds of others just like it, why did this woman care so much about this?
The Nobody's eyes left the tubby woman for a moment, focusing on Kadence who was standing beside her, wondering what was running through her companion's mind during all of this? Was Kade scared? Kiaxi had no comprehension of the feeling so she wouldn't have known what it was like to feel fear towards a situation. Though she did feel a light pang in her chest--something that made her "feel" a little uncomfortable. She had faith that they'd be able to outsmart this woman and her guards, sure the guards may have captured them first but she and Kade had just fought a hoard of heartless, so of course they were going to be a little worn out from the ordeal--and that's what had affected their fighting when they were up against the Card Guards. If those heartless hadn't shown up earlier there was no doubt in her mind and she and Kade wouldn't even be in this situation right now.
Her focus was brought back to the Queen as the verdict rang out. A very grave sentence, indeed.
Kiaxi's eyes narrowed even further, "What's so special about one rose? You've got hundreds more, and it's not like we were stomping through your garden, trampling all over your roses on purpose. It was an accident, chill out. |
" She hoped that she had used the slang phrase 'chill out' correctly, she'd heard it said a few times during her travels and thought that if it meant what she thought it did then it certainly applied to what was being said at the moment. The Queen looked absolutely livid, he face turned bright red--the same color as her precious roses were. Kiaxi could practically see the steam billowing out of her ears. She began to try to wiggle her wrists, attempting to shimmy them out of their bindings just incase and and Kade needed to make a quick escape. But the rope was too tight, there was no room to move her hands. Which mean that even if she desperately needed to...she wouldn't be able to summon a dark corridor to bring them to safety. They were trapped. Of course this would only happen to her. Of course the first time she had managed to make it off her home world, she would manage somehow to mess it all up. All earlier faith and confidence she had possessed when fighting had drained out of her now. She shuffled slightly, her Converse clad feet clicked against the faux-wood of the trial bench. Dark, brooding orbs focused on one particular grain of wood before quickly glancing away and moving back to see if she could find it. Of course, they seemed to land right on the same grain, but Kadence was not too sure if it was the exactsame piece. Maybe her mind just thought it was the same one. Maybe her mind was making up this whole thing.
A sudden loud noise made Kadence jump. Her eyes flickered fearfully around the room as if she had forgotten where she was. She quickly remembered that no, none of this was a dream or illusion. She sighed and muttered something under her breath. "I'm sorry about your roses. They can grow back..."
The queen seemed to have the hearing of a bat...or cat, cause her face seemed to light up even more like that of Rudolph's nose at Christmas time. "Well maybe if you didn't add that last little part, I could have let you girls go, but no! What insolence in my court room!" Another bang with the gavel sent Kade's heart reeling.
An angry flash rippled in her dark orbs. "I don't care about your stupid roses! Just cause you have a crown and some shiny wand doesn't mean you can be a bully." Kade struggled against the wrought iron locks, pulling and straining against them. A freedom around her wrists and with one more jerk, the bonds gave way.
Kadence stared down at her freed wrists as the ropes dropped to her the ground, looping around her feet like a snake too tired to strike. Her eyes flashed over to Kiaxi. Grabbing the older girl, she hauled her off the stage before trying to get the ropes off her wrists as well. Now that her own hands were free, it was a bit easier.
Once the ropes were undone on her friend, she glanced around for her weapons. An aggravated noise came from Kade's throat until she finally found a stick to brandish. They must have hid their weapons and unlike her Nobody companion, she couldn't exactly call her weapon to her hand.
