"I thought you were a qualified pilot?" She heard the disembodied voice of Vera say.
"Shut up Vera" Rebecca said on the suit's internal coms as she climbed out of the wreckage of her gummi ship. Or more accurately extricated herself. "Not my fault the controls gave out after the engine failure", A sarcastic "uh-huh" being the artificial intelligence's only reply. She had been on her way back to hollow bastion when things started to go wrong with her ship, so she had tried to land on the world known as traverse town, but the engines cut out, followed by the controls, leading the ship to crash into the ground. If it weren't for the thousand or so pounds of armor and alterations to her skeletal structure and all, she'd probably be paste instead of just having a headache. "you had a much better landing last time" Vera then said as Rebecca struggled to get a beam moved enough to get past it, despite how strong she was with the suit, she had to try and get it moved when other things took up all the space. She could only guess how compacted the ship was. "I mean, we could at least walk out of the other one as soon as you forced the ramp open." Having gotten past the beam and now stuck behind the other layer, she started to kick at it as she said "I told...you...to shut...up!", the plat in front of her finally pooping loose and landing 4 feet away with a clang on the ground.
She managed to get herself out of the hole and the ship and looked at the wreckage. "Well, looks like I'm going to need a new ship" Rebecca said, sighing because she new that was going to take time. There wasn't anything really of value so she decided to just leave it where it was for the moment and just get a lay of the land, not really having been here before. "Huh, wonder if it's always night here?" she said as she simply walked around, the white armor while showing scratches and scorching still shining brightly in the lights. She never really thought of the fact that walking around in full armor might freak some people out. Chances were people would think she was a giant metal robot since it was hard to tell gender when she was in the suit and she stood at about 7 feet tall. Not to mention the Blue face plate was still polarized so her face was hidden.

War stood off in the distance watching the strange automaton leave the wreckage. It intrigued her to see such an advanced weapon of war. Nothing like what the Alchemists could create or use. These other worlds had proven very interesting
The Four Horsemen had awoken not long ago deep within the crypts where they had been sealed away within. Strange creatures had been collecting their remains and now they were spread among the worlds. War considered it a blessing and a curse, they were freed, but someone could unknowingly discover a potent weapon against them.
Of course they were less of a concern since they had discovered the Heartless. They had found perfect soldiers for their cause. Beings who could slay the hated humans and turn them into more weapons of this endless war.
She snapped her focus once more to the situation. Chaos had sent her through the Darkness to find more information for their eternal war. She looked to the automaton and watched where it went slowly following behind. This was the only overt sign of war for her to find. Perhaps it would provide useful information to Chaos.

There was something ... off, with her motion tracker. It seemed to be cutting in and out and would go from clear to full so she disabled it so it wouldn't distract her. But she had never relied on the technology. It could be fulled easily, ones sense on the other hand weren't so easy to full. She could feel someone watching from the myriad shadows of this world. Being as it was night time here, though what she had heard it was always night here. "I do believe someone is following us." She heard Vera's voice over the suits internal coms. "Your just figuring that out?" she replied within the helmet so no one would hear. She was used to being stared at and followed, even in her universe.
Even without the armor she stood at about six and a half feet tall, and if what her girl friend said was true (she was a terrible judge of her own looks), how did she put it? oh right, that she was a babe. Reasons her girlfriend hated when she was in full armor, if it weren't for the white paint she'd confuse her with one of the others since they were all that much taller then her. She kept forgetting Rebecca was the smallest of the spartan 4's. She finally got to a point she stopped abruptly in her track and wheeled around in the blink of an eye to behind her. "Who's there?" she said, scanning the area behind her. The street lights may have been low but if she went to any of the night vision variants her vision would be skewed for a few moments and she wasn't comfortable with leaving that opening.

War smirked as she stepped out, her hand resting on her Calvary saber. "I could ask you the same." War asked calmly. "One does not see a Wartime automaton walking the streets often, do they?"
War was poised for battle. If the strange creation started to attack she would be quick to respond. However the tension was relaxed, she was here just to investigate. If it could communicate, then perhaps it would just answer her. It was a shame none of her social skills would be as useful here, after all it was hard to seduce a robot.
She stood straight as she awaited the answer, conveying every ounce of her military discipline. When she did move it was with a serpent's grace. She was six foot tale and had flaming red hair, in contrast to the dark military outfit. Her clothing appeared to model the 1400's. The way her beautiful features set gave her a predatory look. Overall it was obvious to note that this women kept in shape, almost above human abilities.
"I'm lost and don't much about this world." She said sweetly, just in case it did have emotions. "I am just looking for some help."

As a woman stepped out into plain sight, she immediately noticed the hand on the saber and reflexively her hand went to her combat knife located near the shoulder and while her hand grasped the handle of the blade she didn't draw it. This was why she went to other worlds before any of the rest of her team that tagged along, why in her home universe, she was essentially the poster girl, the face of the program. Spartans were trained to pick up on any threat, and neutralize it. But she hadn't had combat training drilled into her head since age 6 because she didn't join till after she had her mother test the procedure on her. One of them would have already attacked her by now in all likely hood, after all she had warned them that just because opponents carried swords here most often that they weren't to be taken lightly. Sure their armor would stop a normal blade, hell a spartan could probably catch it in their hand and snap it like a twig, problem was you never knew when it was going to be some magic blade and those were just as effective as covenant plasma weapons against the armor and it's shields. But as much as she hated to say it that way, she had more humanity then the others.
She grew up outside of a military boot camp, and had contact with others. If you were around the Spartans in the way she and some of the trainers were, you'd know they weren't totally cold and emotionless. But the way they were treated by others, well, it often made them that way to all but the others. Many still regarded them as freaks, even if they were glad they were getting their ass saved by them. Of course, that all being said, another thing about not being raised in the military program was that she was a bit more hot tempered about certain things. She understood mistakes by children, but when it came to more adult people, especially someone who seemed to have some clue on such things, she detested being called or thought of as a robot. But she bit back the anger as much as she could, not everyone from some of these worlds could figure it out they'd never even seen a person in armor before or had seen things like her that were robots, and part of it was memories of other people, no reason to totally take it out on her.
She then heard her say she was lost and was looking for help in that sweet tone. Given how she looked, a relaxed fighting stance, predatory look, it honestly made her trust this woman's intentions far less. But she figured at this point the woman was posing a threat yet, so she'd try and relax a little. and seeing as Vera was getting on her last nerve with the talking, it was a good excuse to take her helmet off. She removed her hand from the knife and used both hands to get the helmet locks released, pulling it off and hanging the helmet on the waist of her armor. "I'm not an "automaton", I'm a woman" she said, still standing several inches taller then the other woman. "I also wasn't following behind someone like I was trying to go unnoticed, was I?" she added to her comment about being able to ask the same thing. She was just plainly walking in the open, not sneaking around. She let her stance relax slightly as she said, "I don't know a whole lot about this world myself, heard some things about it, but never visited it before."

War was shocked. So then this was some sort of armor. It was highly advanced, far more the Amestris had managed in the last 300 years that had been sealed away. However besides the knife she didn't note any overt signs of weapons, but she could have some yet unidentified weapons, perhaps some ranged weapon that would prove annoying to fight. However she wasn't as worried about the armor itself. Her blade had been initially forged by Alchemy, the blade much sharper the conventional blades, and stronger to. Add to that her super-human strength and she had rent steel asunder before as if it were cloth.
However what struck her most was the women's beauty. She was gorgeous and as much a tool of battle as she had been. She needed to touch this women. She wasn't sure which she would prefer more, fighting this women, or having sex with her. Both ideas made her shiver slightly with desire.
Outwardly she showed little sign of her emotions, a slight widening of the eyes, a flash of desire within them as well, and of course the slight shiver. She removed her hand from the saber's hilt. She smiled playfully as the fire of desire continued to dance within her eyes. "I do apologize, I would never mean to offend such a lovely work of art. I was not familiar with your armor. I only followed you because I did not know what you were, I was curious and my gut told me it was something wonderful." It was hard to tell whether she was hitting on her or merely complementing the armor. Of course she had no compliment for the armor in truth, but she adored this women of the battlefield, as much for her beauty as for her obvious skill. Her every move spoke of countless training hours. Two soldiers always knew when they stood next to each other.
"Before not very long ago, I do not know there were other worlds, or that I could find such a radiant gem among them." War said a hungry smile.

Rebecca relaxed further as the woman removed her hand from the hilt of her sword. It was far easier to relax when someone didn't appear to be ready to fight. Especially since she only had her knife on her. The pole arm she normally used wasn't with her, and her side arms were with it. Then again bullets were not very effective in this universe. Many people and creatures were fast enough to dodge them or deflect them. And other then it being hard to find rounds for it, something like her assault rifle was way too advanced for most places. A world known as Amestris was one of the more advanced she had visited and aside from heavy machine guns semi automatic pistols were as advanced as they got really.
Though now that she wasn't looking at her as a threat, the other woman wasn't that bad looking. Did Rebecca have a girlfriend? yes, but they were both military. They had agreed long before to leave it open, sometimes you had an itch you had to scratch, and they were often serving across opposite ends of the galaxy. Plus in all honesty her girlfriend had thinking more along the lines of a guy usually, which she knew was part of why they had that little rule too but she was fine with it.
Though when she heard the next two statement's, she couldn't help but blush slightly and avert her eyes to the side. This girl had only seen her face and was saying such things, and it was something she never really heard often. Sure once in a while her girlfriend would say she was beautiful and all, though more often in more... crude terms. Rebecca was definitely the woman of the relationship, and her partner definitely the man of it.
"I'm sorry" she replied, more about the tone she had taken earlier, "Because of this armor and some other factors people act and treat me like I'm some machine where I come from, so it sort of strikes a nerve at times, even though I know it's hard to tell with the armor on." Hell, the first Spartan she saw she had thought was a robot till she saw the blood from wounds she had. She honestly didn't know how to respond about being called a radiant gem or anything. Thanks to her fathers experiments she had been teased as a child for her blue hair and eyes, the changes from the SPARTAN IV project procedures made her taller than most guys, let alone girls, so such things were seldom heard. "It is kind of a shock to find out you really aren't alone out there." she said to the bit about other worlds, having felt it when she had first traveled to this universe a year ago, well, a year for her and decades for this universe, and even when she saw the covenant for the first time. "So many worlds and their so very different." she added, thinking back on some of her experiences.

"To think the stars in the night sky held so many secrets after all." War said with a light smile as she shifted her stance to be more inviting, a trick she had learned to draw young recruits to her bed.
"I must say to use this armor so fluidly, your body must be finely honed. Ho I would love to see it, I am sure it is as lovely as what I have seen so far." War said with a lustful look. "It is so rare to find women adept in the ways of battle, even rarer to find one who has true beauty. You must be marvelous in action."
War was barely containing her desire, it almost endangering her mission. She forced herself to take a deep breath to focus herself at the matter at hand. Her plan was to seduce the women before her, and get as much information as possible.
She straightened her back and drew in the women's features, and softened her own. "Where are you heading, because I have a feeling we should stick together until we know the lay of the land, one soldier to another. I have collected some of this strange currency they use, perhaps we could get a meal and lodgings for the night."

"There are definitely a lot of things to discover out there." she said, though she didn't quite notice the woman being more inviting. Despite more experience with people, certain body language was beyond her.Closer to the age when she would have picked up on things like that she had entered training and so she sort of missed out on those lessons. Though as the woman's comments turned to her body and all she became redder in the face. "Well, your body needs to go through a set of augmentations to use it, otherwise the suit would rip your body to shreds, and even then you have to adjust to it, which honestly takes a while... especially when your still recuperating from the very painful procedure. Because of the scheduling for her test, she didn't have time to fully heal and recuperate after the procedure, so it had taken longer for her to both heal up and get settled into the armor. "And I don't think I'm really anything that special." She was pretty sure she was decent looking, but she didn't think she was as hot as her girlfriend made her out to be.
She then heard her suggestion about sticking together and lodging together. "I suppose we can do that, I have some money as well we can use, that is if we can find a place to stay and eat." She replied, biting her lip slightly but not thinking about. There was another thing that was both a great asset and hinderence she had but the others lacked: emotions. The others weren't totally cold-hearted but at the same time, they wouldn't be phased by an attractive woman complementing them. It also meant they were less inclined to... less then pure thoughts.

"That's impressive." War said. "So that would mean your abilities are above human?" She asked with a playful smile. She had never lain with anyone who had close to her endurance, maybe she would also have the strength. It would be interesting to be able to not have to hold back.
War moved in closer and looked to shapely women over, mentally removing the armor, matching it's shape to what should be her body. She also wondered if her own body would survive the armor, not that it could kill her, but it could immobilize her.
"You shouldn't sell yourself short. Your a diamond among what I am sure is nothing but brutish men, as most armies are." War said. "You are a lovely women and you should take pride in this and recognize it. After all in certain situations it can be as sharp as that blade. We ladies of the battlefield must learn to use every weapon afforded to us."
She looked off in the distance giving the women a chance to digest what she said. "I am certain we can find a reasonably priced tavern. It does seem this place gets lots of strangers, and I doubt anyone stays for long."

"Yeah they are, the suit enhances them even further on top of what they already are from the augmentation process." she said, looking at her hands, looking a little on the down side as she added, "I feel like I'm living in a world made of cardboard sometimes, making sure to take care and keep control so I don't break something, or someone." Even without these suits, spartans had killed soldiers by accident in fights and training, just for their own safety non-spartan soldiers had to use the large exoskeletons meant for unloading cargo from ships and all to spar with them, or the spartans had to hold back a lot. Hell, even though she had just undergone the procedure and was barely able to move when she went after her father in the hospital after he tried shooting her mom, she had only rammed into him and slammed him against the wall, which left him with several broken ribs, the bones in one arm pulverized, and left him paralyzed from the neck down. If she had been at 100% she probably would have killed him. Though that being said he was part of the reason she hated men and she utterly despised him. But this way he suffered more which was nice. Even Rebecca as nice as she could be had her moments of pure sadism.
"Actually our military has men and women, course many of the women are more like guys and not the most attractive." she said with a smile. Many were tomboys to the extreme, worked out a ton, practically shaved their heads, all of it. Except the ones that had commands and desk jobs, to Rebecca they actually counted as women. Many were still tom boyish and gungho, but didn't seem like they wanted to be men. They actually made her girlfriend look as girly as Rebecca herself was.
She looked off in the direction of where there were more buildings closer together and said, "yeah there should be something in town." Turning back to the other woman she added "But we should get a room first, I'd rather not go get food in this armor, cant exactly sit and eat in it with how much it weighs." She started off toward's the center of town, turning her head back as she said "By the way, my name's Rebecca.", figuring it best to give a name so they could better address one another. It was all still a little weird though, having a woman she just met saying such things. For the first time in a long while, she truly felt, well, normal.

"I can understand that feeling." War said with a slight sigh. Her own strength had taken some time to get used to. It amazed her at first how strong she was. Now, she understood that in truth it was how weak everything was. This women would learn that in the end, everyone with strength did.
This augmentation process confused War, the only thing she could compare it to was what had happened to herself those many centuries ago. War had not chosen that, it had been inflicted on her. Had this women chosen this, or was she also turned into something against her will. "Did you choose this?"
She listened to the talk of Rebecca's military. "My world's military rarely allowed entry to women, but occasionally one or two prominent leaders would be a women." She left the fact that at one time she had been one such women. Of course her fame had not lasted long, and the enemies she had made won. She unconsciously brought her hand up to her throat still remembering her own execution.
War listened to the women speak and nodded. "I can certainly understand, and I do very much wish to see you outside of that armor." She said the lustful smile returning, removing the last thoughts of her death before becoming a Homunculus.
"My name is.." She had been about to give a false name but decided against it. Tonight, she wouldn't hold back. "War. It's been so long since I went by anything else, now everyone who knows me calls me War."

Rebecca was slightly confused when the other woman said she could understand the feeling, so she had to assume that she was one of those people from other worlds with unusually high strength, like that Tifa girl from oh so long ago. Then she asked if she had volunteered for this, the augmentation, which was actually a dual answer. "There were two of them, the first I didn't, the second I did." She replied. "The first was while I was in the womb still, my father giving my mother things that changed me, which gave me a bit more strength than most and gave me things like this hair, which is never a natural color on my home world. But it stopped when my mother found out." She said, then getting to the longer one. "The second, which made me most of what I am now I did for several reasons. The project that made me this had two prior incarnations, and where a bunch of soldiers with guns couldn't stop, I watched a woman from the incarnation before mine stop with her bare hands and save me and my mother. My mom was working on the next version of that project and despite my age I actually helped. It was then I learned the project that woman belonged to was known as Spartan III, and was basically turning out throw away super soldiers. But because it was cheaper then the first incarnation that made soldiers the covenant truly feared, they wouldn't accept my mother's proposals and all, they wanted proof. But she couldn't get test subjects from the military or anything, or any other way, so they were going to fire her for not coming up with anything. So because I wanted to be strong and help others like that woman did for me, because I didn't want my mom losing her job, and because the others had no choice, they were taken at age 6 to be trained and everything and were being made to be thrown away, a disposable weapon, that was just wrong and my mothers project would change that, I eventually convinced her to use me, and it worked better then anyone expected. It's rough sometimes, and the pain was excruciating, since they didn't really knock you out and it lasted well after the procedure, but I still think it was worth it." Though a small laugh came from her mouth as she said "When I ran into that woman that saved me she said I was either crazy or had bigger marbles then any guy she knew to volunteer for it."
She then heard about the other woman's military, followed by her desire to see her outside of her armor. "Well, in the past on my world, women were wholly excluded. It just took time for the change to come." A slight smirk as she then added "I'm sort of curious to see how much of all that isn't the shirt or padding", referring to her chest. Sure Rebecca's was my no means small by most standards, and her girlfriend's definitely weren't but this woman's appeared bigger than both of theirs. Any woman she had either had padding or implants.
She heard the woman pause as she went to give her name, before saying it was War and that she hadn't been called anything else in a long time. "well, I have to admit that's sort of odd even for a nickname, at least where I come from." she said with a smile, "But, don't you have an actual name?" Though, she took a second to think it over before adding "It's nothing against the name war or anything, I mean, it just wouldn't feel right for me to call you that." Outside of fighting she always addressed others by real names or shortened versions of those names, never nicknames and call signs, despite most people calling her "Snow" regardless. "Especially with how pretty you are." she added with a little smirk.

War watched her as she described the process. So then her father was doing something like human alchemy. That made War already hate the man, she had never been fond of Alchemists that reached dangerously beyond their support role.
So she was still human. She had done it for human reasons. That amused War. In every way she was the opposite, a super soldier made against her will, by a process that made her something else. What would it be like to have kept her humanity, to still be that hero that had been knighted by the king. To still be that little girl who became so much.
However, she knew she couldn't. She did not understand her old self anymore. War was so utterly different then that women. War was a force of nature, that women had always been surrounded by things she was powerless to resist. The differences were as clear to her as night and day. She was no longer that women, as much as she may wish she was.
She returned her focus outward when she heard the women mention her chest. She had always been ample-chested, which had caused her to need custom armor, and made using certain weapons difficult. However she had trained until she compensated for that weakness and knew which weapons to favor. She also more then appreciated the interest, it meant that she would succeed in her endeavor.
It was this dizzying internal focus that caught her unprepared for what Rebecca said. Her eyes widened slightly and hurt creased her features slightly. However she withdrew quickly and covered with what elegance she could muster, which was the truth. "Oh I am sorry, it's just been so long since I've been that women. She died a long time ago." She bit her lip slightly and shook her head slightly, fighting back the depression that wanted to consume her.
"Her name was Seraph if that would make you feel better." War said with a slight smirk as she brought her emotions back under control. Of course even that was technically true. The women that would be Lady Seraph was actually Angela Thomson, but she had abandoned that name shortly after she joined the military.

When Rebecca looked back as she walked to see if maybe she had lost her when there was a delay in the answer (or what she initially perceived as one) she saw a look of hurt cross the woman's face before things started to speed back up again. Her heart and adrenaline were still pumping from the crash as well as now what was going on with the woman had her perception going between slow mo and normal speed. It was actually kind of annoying to have to deal with that part at times.
She listened to her explanation and apology before saying that woman had been called Seraph. She could tell from body language she had maybe pushed a bit far into something painful and felt bad. "There's no need to apologize, I know what it can be like to hear a name for a while and forget others." she said, but as much as the other woman was smirking, Rebecca could only guess what it was hiding at this point. She moved back to the woman who had been called Seraph, thankful for her now finite control of the suit as she put an arm around her waist and the other on her shoulder as she kissed her softly. She held it for a moment before she said "I don't think that's true, I think she's still very much alive, buried very deep inside but there." She moved the hand that was on Seraph's shoulder to just above her breasts as she added, "Otherwise, you'd probably not be with me right now, maybe you just need some help bringing her out." she added before kissing her again, holding this one a bit longer.
She wanted to make sure she got Seraph's mind off whatever was bothering her, and she had a pretty good idea how. "No matter what it's gonna take a few minutes for me to get out of this armor, but, how about we have dessert before dinner?" she said with a teasing smile before turning back towards town and continuing towards a sign that said it was a inn with a tavern. The other woman seemed eager to get a view of what was beneath the armor, so maybe that would distract her thoughts.
