Rune waited patiently for Koda to emerge from the store. He had no problem waiting as long as it took her, so long as she had some outfits to change into and she liked them. He was used to spending hours at a time waiting and wondering if he was shopping with women. So he was slightly surprised when she actually came out with change in a matter of minutes. He pushed off the wall he'd been leaning against so he was standing up straight and took the left over change. "So long as your happy with what you got." he said with a smile and putting the money in his pocket. "Well, off to get a room and food." he added, before starting off back down the street.
It was another probably 5 to 10 minutes of walking to where he was headed for them to have a room for her to get cleaned up in and have some food. Rune walked up to the counter and the man having seen him before said "Room for one?" and strting to fill things out. "Two." Rune said, pointing to Koda, causing the man to look up. "But uh, we have only a single room left for one, every place has been packed the last couple weeks." he said not sure what to do. "We can make it work, not sure if were spending the night yet." Rune said, the man seeming slightly hesitant and perplexed but filling it out and giving Rune the key. Rune walked up the couple flights of stairs to the room and opened the door for Koda to enter. "I doubt you want me in there while you get cleaned up." he said, pulling the key out of the lock as he added "and if we have to spend the night you can take the bed."

Her eyes followed it into his pocket, before sliding back up to meet his gaze. Fingers tightened around the bag in her hand as he spoke but she nodded and didn't fight herself. She followed beside him silently, strangely conscious of ever sound her bag made as it brushed against her legs at their pace. After what felt like an eternity of awkward quiet, Rune turned and entered an inn. Koda hesitated with the door propped open with her hand, not from questioning whether she should accept his hospitality but because she had honestly never been in an inn. She glanced up at the bell that rang when the door was opened before slipping inside quickly to make it stop. She felt out of place with her dirty face and dirtier clothes and she felt small standing behind Rune, despite the small difference in their height.
As he spoke to the man behind the very clean counter, Koda let her eyes shift around the room, learning what she could. Her attention caught mid-conversation, realizing there was only one bed between the two of them. She felt something cold slither into her stomach and met the eyes of the man as he handed Rune a key. Koda swallowed, feeling like a deer in the headlights at his confused but almost piteous look, and quickly turned to follow Rune. She stopped in the door to their room with him, looking at him as he spoke. Her face was nothing but childish curiosity and it took her a moment to pull herself out of it to address his comments. This room was. So much nicer than her entire home on Edge. "I'll use the bathroom," she said, pulling her bag closer to her side. She paused again, before stepping in and moving across the threshold toward the open bathroom door. "I'm used to sleeping on the floor." And that was all there was to the conversation, signaled by the door closing behind her.
Koda stood in the middle of the small room for a long moment. Tears threatened again, just at the sight of a bathtub and the heat of the room around her. She inhaled shakily and began to strip, slipping into the running shower. Again she was still, delirious from the feel of clean, hot water. Koda had thought she would take her time but suddenly - suddenly all she wanted was to be clean. She began to scrub at her skin, almost rubbing it raw, and soaping her hair. The shower was quick, spurred by her need to be clean and the rising, nauseating heat in her stomach that demanded food. She stepped out, using a towel hung neatly on a rack on the wall. Drying off, she slipped into a new pair of her clothes, ecstatic at how it felt to be clean all around. Her fingers tugged through her hair, moving silky silver into its usual style, one of the only gifts she'd accepted from her mother. Her eyes caught her reflection in the mirror.
She cleaned up well at the very least.
Koda paused with her hand on the door handle before stepping out, stopping to look for Rune. Her fingers played with the lock of hair that hung free from the looped braid, savoring the cleanliness of it. "Thank you," she said without her usual hesitation to say things in that manner. And she meant it. She couldn't remember the last time someone had been so kind to her.
Of course, she couldn't remember a time she'd allowed it.

Rune decided not to say anything when she said she'd use the bathroom. He had kind of figured that, but he was used to women that walked out of them in towels or less and didn't know if she was the same. After all, she had been embarrassed to get underwear with him around. Though she closed the door after saying she was used to the floor cutting any chance for a real rebuttal. He heard the shower start running and leaned on the wall that was behind the bathroom door were it open. He'd wait for her to be out to continue the bit about the bed, was Rune perfect, absolutely not, was he honorable, well that was a matter of opinion and all really, but even he had his moments and used to the floor or not, he wasn't letting her sleep on it if it came to that. It was something he was raised with so, hard to change really. Well, more or less raised with, hard to say how much.
But his thoughts screeched to a halt as the water stopped running fairly quick. Was she done already, he figured it'd have been longer. Moments later she came out and saw him after she looked a bit and thanked him. Rune could tell before she was attractive below the dirt and all but cleaned up, he was dumbstruck, literally. "uh..um.. your welcome." he managed to say after a few seconds trying to recover. He never could of imagined her looking that much better cleaned up. It was another minute or so before he managed to get enough composure back to say, "W..Why don't we go get some food now." trying to find a way to look at her without looking. Though walking ahead of her gave a good excuse as he started out. He didn't want to offend her with not looking, but the look on his face told the story that he found her attractive. It was funny how you give him the stereo typical girl every guy wants with the big chest and hourglass figure and all he's fine, give him someone that's actually just plain beautiful, he became as quiet and nervous as they come. He actually for the time being complete forgot about the bed thing.
