Every so often, there was a slow day. Well... in so far as a slow day could exist. In the case, it was more of the fact that Leon had spent the better part of the morning shifting sandbags down towards some of the more problem areas in the waterways. Not complicated, but the whole thing had been more than a little time consuming. Precaution, he'd insisted. Better to need and not have, than to need, yaddah, yaddah. There hadn't been too many points at which his general paranoia hadn't been at least minorly useful, and now, he hoped, wouldn't be an exception. Still... it was relatively easy work.
Just moving them from just the edge of the Borough down into areas he wasn't sure could withstand flooding, should it happen. There were some residents that were in areas that could very well be problematic at times. Not to mention being able to actually get personal errands done was merely a plus on the matter, the usual problems and dangers aside.
As things stood currently, there wasn't too much more Leon could do about anything. Everyone seemed relatively calm.
Leon grunted as he finished pushing a few now-empty crates against a far wall to take care of a little later. It'd been full of tools, for the most part, and now that he actually had space for them he felt a little less like he had to worry about it. It sat a little better on his shoulders, when he could actually get to things Leon often told himself could wait a little longer. Procrastinating (or simply getting caught up in other things) just seemed to be easier sometimes. Rubbing at a stiff shoulder, the man frowned at nothing in particular. It was getting about that time, he supposed.
Picking up his discarded jacket and shrugging the heavy material back on (it's been too cumberson for what he needed to do at the time), Leon set himself down onto his usual track for patrolling.
So far? He couldn't forsee too much trouble. But things were often subject to change.

His day had been fill with problems after problems. From the unwanted interruption during the mission he was on,which didn't get paid for, to the unwanted visit Sephiroth. Lately the only thing bringing any money in is the delivery service. Cloud stepped lightly on the ground as he walked down the path through the Borough it had seemed like someone was working relevantly hard to have moved all the crates that was previously there( Hmm...Has to be Leon again. Seems like he restless.) As usual Cloud held no excitement or annoyance in his voice. It was just a calm, smooth, mixture of vibrations that turned into words. The stainless steel of the Fusion blade laid comfortably across his back. No matter how calm days seem, he guessed he just couldn't let the solider in him rest.A victim of cruel experiments but it was those experiments that made him who he was today.
While walking down the path. It was all but too apparent that he was in deep thought. His eyes closed, yet it was almost as if he was walking with them opened. Turing and curving, hitting every step without fail. It was true. Lately Hollow Bastion had been devoid of all excitement. Not to say he was asking for someone to fight, but it was never good to go dull. When his eyes opened he found himself at the location he was heading too. In the middle of a large barren area, this is where he practiced. Here he could swing his sword as hard as he wanted with out worrying about hurting anyone.
He placed his hand on the handle, swiftly twisting his wrist to twirl the blade before gripping it with both hands. He held a moment of meditation before striking, clearing his mind from all impurities.
The hue of his glowing eyes shined through and like a trigger he begin to swing his blade. Thrusting vigorously through a large stone causing instant obliteration. He jumped in the air with the boulders and begin to crush them one by one. When he landed the dust of the crumbled rocks came down behind him and the feel of his blade laid on his back once again.

Being unable to rest was something Leon could understand. Habits? Some of them were just too hard to break. When you spent your whole life training, or fighting, learned to cope and survive, it was just too hard to unlearn some of those things. Leon himself was a little too hard headed to let the fighter in him die; too much spirit for it. Too much training and hard work and dedication. In some ways, that was how he understood Cloud. The man was a warrior. A fighter. A survivor. Something Leon had never needed words, he was sure, to completely express with him. And in that same token, he supposed that was just why the other man had so much on his mind, his shoulders...
It wasn't like he'd ever made a point to ask. It wasn't any of Leon's business, anyways.
Besides. The dull air around the place? It was for the better, but Leon didn't think it was out of any real lack of anything to do. Actually, he was pretty sure it had a lot to do with an upcoming storm. Everyone could feel trouble brewing, though Leon hoped the quiet was because they were getting ready to bunker down, weather it out, and not out of unspoken fear. But the thought seemed secondary the second Cloud passed while Leon dusted off his gloved hands, at least somewhat pleased with the work at hand completed. He'd raised a hand in greeting... And didn't seem to exactly get a response. Ah-- it figured. The man's eyes were closed. It made a frown crease along his features, scar wrinkling at that space between brows from it.
Now, normally, he didn't make a point of following people. Not that Leon wasn't obvious about it. He wasn't hiding the fact, not really. He did, though; followed Cloud to his practice spot, watched him for a moment as he leaned against a far rise of wall (it still needed repairing, considering how water damaged and old the mortar was). Cloud was a powerful man. A powerful ally. Leon could concede that much, pride or no.
"Something on your mind? came Leon's quiet, calm voice once Cloud had put his sword to rest and the crushed rocks had settled.

Cloud's eyes were pressed together, his brows pushed towards the middle creating the irregular features. Whenever he was doing any activity involving his blade, his expression all ways showed fury and rage. It was only when he was done that it changed by to his usual detached look. His eyes widen a little when he heard Leon's voice, he had felt someone before but had tossed it aside when he begun training. The ex-soldier's eyes closed as he wiped the filth from his shoulder " No...Not really." His arms swung lightly while walked towards Leon "Just making sure I don't lose my touch."Cloud said with the usual relaxed and unbiased tone. He never really had any major thoughts on anything. Only what affected him.
Leon, he didn't usually go out of his way to talk to him. Just the occasional conversation when they passed by each other. He never really tried to uncover his pass or anything, it wasn't his place. But still it was obvious that he had been inbattles in the past.It seemed like warriors and fighters, survivors, and protectors. They all held a certain air about them. They all grieved deaths of people that was important to them. Most of them carried eyes of sorrow, some hardship, others strength.
Cloud's mind had often refer to distant memories of dead love ones. Talking to them, taking there advice. It was good to hear them every now and then " It's been quite lately."
