"Maiuria! Mai! Please tell me what happened." Mai leaned against the door sobbing lightly. Her father pounded at the door, but she refused to answer. She didn't want anything to do with school or people anymore. Not after what she was put through...
Mai hummed a small tune in her head as she wrote drew the school garden with the utmost precision. Her drawings were always far from perfect but that was what she loved about them. She had just finished the tracing and was going to start penning the details when two of her classmates approached her. The two girls were giggling as they walked up to her which made her Mai very confused. But she promised herself and her father that she would not mind read so long as it wasn't an emergency. "Oh hi Mai!" These two girl were infamous in Mai's book... they were always teasing her but she ignored them. Mai held up a notepad with a smiley face on it. "What are you up to?" Mai gave a questioning look.
"No no, Mai. Not today we promise. We aren't here to tease. The teacher sent for us." Mai turned her head in confusion. "You haven't heard?" Mai shook her head still obviously confused. "Well I thought you would have known... seeing as you had done it." Mai blinked and then grabbed her notebook. She made a giant question mark and held it out to the girls. The two girls giggled and then sighed. "I didn't think you were that brave... setting a student's desk on fire." Mai blinked. She shook her head. She could barely do magic as it was, let alone set objects on fire. Her father had refused to teach her magery until she was of age.
Mai got up and headed for her classroom with the two girls following behind her until they were stopped by the teacher. "Maiuria Celestine! Come with me!" The other girls laughed and then began whispering. Mai, quite confused walked with the teacher into the office. "I don't know what this is about but you can't be going around lighting desks on fire. I will let you off with a warning this time but please do not do it again." Mai blinked and then tried to explain. 'B-But... Mr. Tossier, I-' The teacher grabbed her shirt and flung her away. "Stay OUT of my head, Celestine!"
Mai had ran straight home after that. She wouldn't hear another word of it. Maybe it was better if she didn't keep going to school. She was made fun of... lied to... and there was nothing she could say in her defense. Sure she could speak her mind inside people but that scared people more than anything else. Mai sat on next to the bell in the second district and then peered over the side of the building. She had always snuck out to stare up at the stars like she loved to... '...maybe... I don't need to be around anymore...'

Nasty paws paded down the street, sniffing out after more morsals of delicious bits here and there. The dark, veal colored tongue of Gmork lashed out, swiping the blood of his last meal off his muzzle. In reality, he had not killed whatever pitiful beast had fallen prey to whatever monster had killed it, but he wasn't too proud to eat what was not his. To put it bluntly, Gmork and Balto's momma were two totally different character types.
Savage vs noble... not that those words amount to much to him any more. Nothing much mattered any more. Survival was raw and if it called for being alone, so be it. His freedom would not be hindered.
He stayed close to buildings, like a rat. The neverending night of this world made it very convinent for the werewolf to travel without having to switch to his human form, which he despised with a passion he had yet to understand. All he knew was that two legs was weak, four was strong. Though, hands were convient, sometimes. Sometimes.
Gmork looked up, trying to make sure some Heartless or who knows what hadn't decided he looked tasty. He may have been a big guy, but he was just a dogfish compared to some of the great whites out here.
He froze, sharp blue eyes narrowing in on the blond hair dangling off the side of a roof. He stared, waiting for it to act, but it didn't seem threatening. The black, grisly beast wondered why the humanoid thing was looking over. Was it hunting or hiding? Better question: could Gmork hunt it?
He decided this was a good a time as ever to check. He walked closer to the area below the blond thing, mouth agape. 'What is it doing?'
For once, he looked more curious than anything. Maybe it was because he was full--finally.

This world, besides Hollow Bastion, had to be one of Zexion's favorites. People from all corners of the universe came here, either to make their living or just as a short visit, there were plenty of Heartless in the Second and Third Districts, and most importantly, two out of three districts were quite, a nice change from most worlds. He stood atop the Gizmo Shop, staring over the rest of the district, content. Rarely did he find such a time to relax. Really, he had a person to deal with, but he decided that the man could fend for himself for a bit, and, in all actuality, would enjoy it.
He sat down on the ledge and flipped through a few pages in his Lexicon, wondering what the world had to offer for the Organization. After reading a few paragraphs he ended up with nothing, which was just fine with him. If anyone asked, he chose to search the town the hard way to be thorough. Sure, the lie would take some time to be convincing, but it would work and give him time to do what he wanted. Zexion relaxed and leaned back, resting on his palms. A day such as this was long overdue.
Still, in the back of his mind, a thought nagged: he could be doing better things with his time, his new fascination, research, finding recruits for the Organization, the list went on and on. He rolled his neck, beginning to become unsettled. No, he really didn't have time for this. There was simply too much to do. The Organization came first, his personal interests second and only if he had a chance, which he didn't right now, but he hadn't fully convinced himself of this by this point. It had been a nice break, but his loyalties rested with the Superior.
Zexion stood back up and readied himself to leave, but then he saw a little girl sitting on the rooftops. He frowned. When had she shown up? Just as he lifted his hand to open a portal, he realized that the girl could be used to stay just a bit longer, just by talking with her. It might not have been the perfect opportunity, but it was one he was willing to exploit. He could tell the Organization that he found a person he thought was interesting and followed up on it. For crying out loud, all he wanted was a break. It wasn't as if he was committing treason by taking some personal time.
He walked over to the girl and followed her line of sight. She looked so sad. He wondered what sent her into this state. Perhaps he would learn and that curiosity would be sated. Zexion joined her stargazing, crouching down next to her. "The stars are shining brilliantly tonight, aren't they?" he commented, hoping that she would respond to his small talk and not run away from him, a total stranger.
