Sora brought his hand in front of his face, examining it briefly before bringing it back down to his side and grinning goofily. Currently, the Keyblade Master found himself sauntering through Guillotine Plaza, dressed in his usual fiendish Halloween Town attire. The brunet actually liked being in this world, despite its ghoulish inhabitants and creepy atmosphere, he found the town strangely inspiring.
He angled his face so that he was peering over his shoulder at his burgundy haired best friend with an excited, child-like grin tugging at the corners of his lips, “See? I told you this place was great, look at our awesome outfits!” Sora was beyond ecstatic at the fact that he had convinced Kairi to come out to patrol Halloween Town with him, at the moment its Heartless readings were the lowest of all the worlds [which was why he chose this world rather than a different one, he didn’t want to put her in danger] so he thought this was the perfect place to bring her in regards to keeping her safe and still being able to do his job.
His bright eyes roved over the town square, searching for anything that may have seemed out of the ordinary—although it was rather difficult to do so since the things that seemed ‘odd’ to him were every day commodities to the residents of Halloween Town, making it more difficult for him to pick out anything that seemed out of place.

It was clear that Kairi would do anything for a friend. Even go to a world she hadn’t been to before. It sounded like fun, though anything Sora liked, she was sure to like. Apart from some other things. Like running around like a loon. Kairi reckoned herself to be the more responsible one, though...that was perhaps not so true. She liked to have fun, every once in the while. Whilst with her friends anyway. The red-haired girl did not really jump at the chance at going to patrol Halloween Town, as she wasn’t fond of things too scary. But..if Sora was there, things wouldn’t be so bad. Plus she had been told stories by her rather loyal friend.
And once she got there, she didn’t feel as tense. Actually, it wasn’t all that bad. And the outfit, was certainly something. A ‘pretty’ witch outfit. Complete with cool hat, she couldn’t be happier. ”You were right, I’m impressed Soar” she grinned, checking out her outfit with a little twirl. Her blue eyes looked around the town, not sure what they were looking for.
”So Sora..Is it really Halloween all year round? And how can you tell the heartless...from the locals?” she asked, as they paced through the town/.Kairi had no clue what to expect. Not today. Or night, whichever it was.

An accomplished grin tugged at the corners of his lips when his best friend admitted to being impressed by the town—he had hoped that she would be, or at least that she wouldn’t be frightened by the spooky atmosphere. That would’ve been a disaster. And he got to show her how awesome his dark fiend outfit was—complete with fangs and bat wings. He watched her through the corner of his eye, in truth he’d brought her with him because he missed hanging out with her [and Riku] and now that he was on another journey he wasn’t sure how often he’d be able to visit Destiny Islands so he wanted to spend as much time with his friends as he possibly could…just in case.
He grinned, “Well, it’s not really Halloween all year round—it may look like it…but the people here pretty much spend every day preparing for next year’s Halloween and coming up with new tricks and scares.” The brunet Keyblade Master paused, tapping his chin with his index finger, “Though…for the past few years Jack, he’s kinda like the town’s Halloween Celebrity, he’s been a little obsessed with Christmas. It’s so bizarre.”
“The locals aren’t that scary…” Sora wasn’t sure if he was trying to convince her…or himself of that. Quite a few times he’d been startled by a passing werewolf or mummy—he just wasn’t used to seeing actual creatures like that unless it was Halloween and it was just someone in a mask. “Well…I’d like to think that the locals are a little friendlier than the Heartless.” He laughed, but at the same time he kept an eye out for any wayward Heartless that decided to pop up—he was thankful that there weren’t too many here in Halloween Town yet, their numbers had been taken down drastically the year before by him and his friends.

Kairi’s attention was diverted, as she quickly glanced around. This was not what she was used to. Yet, it wasn’t too much of a horror. In fact, she quite enjoyed the change of scenery. Sora was sued to all this hopping to worlds, whilst she was not. Though, she wanted to get more out there and explore a bit more. Because, that was what she wanted when she was younger. And now, she could. And she wasn’t alone neither. She smiled at her best friend, glancing over his costume. She quite liked it, it suited him.
”Oh I see. At least we blend in, huh?” she chuckled, as she dutifully followed Sora. She knew it was not a wise decision to run off. Not when there could be heartless, creeping anywhere. And still, her combat skills were nothing compared to Sora’s. So sticking by his side seemed natural. Although she decided she would fight if the time called for it. At least she had back up. Incase she would falter, like usual.
”Hmm? Christmas? It’s a lovely holiday, but so different. But maybe he just wants a change?” she shrugged, pushing back a stray strand of her auburn hair.”Though I do like Halloween, sometimes” she smiled, her fear of being spooked out if the blue still there. It was a stupid childish fear, but natural. She had grown out of it over the years, after all that had happened to them.
”Yeah, I’m sure they are. We can take them down though, right?” she grinned, as she walked along, starling herself as a fountain suddenly erupted. Her hand immediately reached for Sora’s arm, clutching tight, until she realized she was safe.”I’m clearly not used to this place like you are. ” she chuckled, letting go off Sora’s arm.”Sorry” she muttered guilty, her hands drifting by her sides. Gotta keep my cool she nodded to herself. Heartless were worse, they were.

Sora leaned forward excitedly, balancing on his tippy-toes as he did so, his lips twitched into an amuse smile, "Yeah, he's gotten into trouble with Santa Claus a few times because of it. A Halloween Town Cristmas is a little unconventional and...I think it's something that the world just isn't ready for yet." The images of Jack's skeletal reindeer and the frightful toys that he and the town had created flashed through his mind. While he had thought that the set-up was cool most children probably wouldn't have found the idea of receiving a shrunken head as funny as Sora did. "Can you believe it? Riku told us Santa didn't exist, but he does!" When he was younger he had looked up to Riku (he still did) and had hung off of his every word--it was easy to believe that the big jolly man in red didn't exist all because Riku said he wasn't real. However, he was glad that his best friend was wrong in that case because Sora still retained some child-like qualities and he liked the thought of someone delivering toys to children who were good all year round. It gave incentive for children to hold on to their light rather than give into the naughty notions and temptations of darkness.
"Yeah, you never got to really go anywhere before," the brunet frowned, "Well, that's gonna change! --That is, if you want to travel." He added the last part as an afterthought, scratching the back of his spiky-head in a sheepish manner. Just because she had the opportunity to go places didn't necessarily mean that she wanted to, Sora needed to keep in mind that the decision was solely Kairi's, and Kairi's alone.
His cheeks tinted a light shade of pink and heated up from the touch--as quick and innocently unintentional as it had been. Sora was glad for the dark atmosphere, hopefully it would help to conceal the coloring of his cheeks.
"Ah, n-no, it's fine." He laughed nervously, "This place can be a bit creepy, the locals here like to set things up so that stuff jumps out at you--kinda like one of those 'haunted houses' we used to go to at Halloween as kids." Although, back then he had been rather jumpy and would scream without a true reason--only if he thought that something might jump out and scare him. Sora liked to think that he was a lot braver now than he had been back then.

Kairi had heard about some of Sora’s adventures. All the people he met, the things he got up to. But she didn’t believe any of it till she saw with her very own eyes. It was a fun experience, as she had missed out before. But not now. Now, she could relish every, weird and wonderful new adventure. Only to prevent the world from darkness. A big feat, but that wasn’t on her mind too much today, or tonight, she couldn’t be too sure in this Halloween-themed town.
”Perhaps so” she chuckled, just imagining what he could be meaning. And what exactly happened the last time that happened. ”I know1 I’m glad he’s real, although I always believed he was. I wish i could of met him” she babbled, thinking of being young once more. And trying to stay up late to see Santa on Christmas eve. It never worked, funnily enough. A light smile appeared on her lips, to cover up her constant thinking. It was strange to how she was just thinking about the everything he said. It made her feel left out, before. When she couldn’t explore, or most importantly, help. Especially when her friends were in danger.
But that was about to change. A new year, a new Kairi. ”Of course I want to! I never got to help before, the waiting was so hard. But now, I can come with you, whether you like it or not” she chuckled at the end, just eager to see every last world she had not let her eyes set upon. Though she was sure he wouldn’t mind, after being apart for so long. It felt so nice to be back with her friends again and not faced with any uncertainty about not seeing them again. She didn’t have to worry, as much.
She shook off that quick moment’s embarrassment, dusting off her skirt, trying not to look at Sora. Clumsy was her middle name, apparently. As was being easily scared. ”I’ll just have to keep an out then” she nodded, her eyes scanning the area as she walked.”Man did I hate those things though” she laughed, pushing a stray strand of her hair.

Kairi looked at her friend, just happy to be in his presence once more. And talk about things they sued to when they just kids. And when they thought Santa would never come, thanks to Riku. But, she believed in her heart he was real, as it was now confirmed. The red-head just nodded, just imagining how much of a work load Santa would be enduring. Probably alot. She had no doubt in her mind that Sora would be on the Good list. She was half hoping she was too. ”Yeah, he probably has alot of work to do. I bet we’re both still on the nice list, right?” she chuckled, thinking back to if she had done anything that bad. But nothing sprang to mind.
”That would be great! Then I would see for myself.” she nodded, just happy to be with her friend. And to be actually doing something for a change, instead of being stuck on that island. It felt lonely, even when she had Selphie and her other friends. The only ones that mattered were t bsuy risking their lives. But that needn’t to happen anymore. Now she could join in with her friend’s adventures and not feel so left out.
It actually felt pretty good that she could be with her friend and not have to worry, like she did before. Kairi smiled ever so sincerely, always amazed at how compassionate Sora was. ”Right, we’ll be together, properly this time” she nodded with her gentle smile.
Then came a little laughter, as it was just like old times. Only Sora was alot stronger than he used to be. Had gotten a bit taller too. She just chuckled, hand covering her lips. ”I’m sure you will, but Riku would do better” she teased, then reassuringly patted his shoulder. ”Only kidding. You’re my hero” she smiled, giving him a brief hug.

All this talk about being on the Nice list reminded him of his first visit to Christmas Town, when he had first met Santa and asked which list he was on with hopeful excitement. He’d been informed that he hadn’t been on the Nice List for quite a few years due to the fact that Riku had told him the Santa Claus didn’t exist and he’d actually believed the silverette. He’d been so bummed to find out that he wasn’t on the list that he wanted to be—but since then he’d reaffirmed his beliefs and had done lots of good so there was no way that he’d be listed as anything other than Nice. The brunet decided that he’d keep that small tidbit of information from Kairi, no way did he want her to know that for a few years he hadn’t been on Santa’s Nice List, it was a little embarrassing.
“Huh?” He snapped out of his mind’s ramblings, “Oh yeah, we’re definitely on the Nice list! I don’t know about you but I can’t remember the last time I did something bad.” Sora chuckled, well, that was partly a lie. On his last journey, when he had been traveling with Donald and Goofy, Donald had bought these fancy chocolates from China when they’d been there helping Mulan and he’d kept them hidden in a secret compartment beneath the control panel of the Gummi Ship. One night while Donald was asleep in the back and Sora and Goofy were flying the ship [Goofy was navigating but had dozed off] Sora had snuck into the Mage’s stash with the intention to just eat one, just to see what they tasted like. They were absolutely delicious, so rich and creamy…Sora had ended up eating them all and when Donald had found out he’d convinced his feathered friend that he’d eaten them all and had just forgotten. Sora considered eating his friend’s chocolates and lying about it to be quite ‘naughty’.
His eyes lit up and his lips pulled back into a bright smile, “I know, it’ll be great! It seems as if something’s always trying to pull us away from each other—but that’ll never happen, I won’t let it.” The thought of traveling with his two best friends excited him to no end, sure he enjoyed Donald and Goofy’s company…but nothing compared to going on a journey with the two people that he’d grown up with—the three of them knew practically everything about each other.
Sora’s jaw dropped and what little ego he had deflated, did she really think Riku was better than him? He’d admit that Riku was strong, but he couldn’t have been that much stronger than Sora…right? Once he realized that he’d been gaping like an idiot for the past few moments he quickly closed his mouth in an attempt to hide the growing disappointment he’d felt from her comment. He shook away the feeling and replaced the frown that had taken up residence on his face with a playful grin, his cheeks burning pink once again from the contact, “Of course, I knew you were kidding. I mean c’mon, I’m totally stronger than Riku is!”

look up, the stars are fading and i am still waiting here. [atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,505px,true][atrb=style, background: #FFA7FC, bTable] Kairi enjoyed the slight reminiscing; it brought her back, to the simpler times. It brought that smile she always held for her friends to the forefront of her face. It was lovely, as she finally could catch up on lost time, though she could tell Sora was off in his own thoughts. Typical Sora, oh how she would not change that for any of the worlds, not ever. ” Really ? How come I can’t believe that Sora?” she teased, although she wouldn’t be too surprised he was actually lying. ”I for one know I’m a nice girl who doesn’t get into trouble, much” she grinned, her shoes scuffing on the ground.
She knew her friend meant well, but she could just imagine, giving his personality, all kinds of havoc he could cause, just like when they were little. She chuckled ever so lightly, feeling comfortable in her best friend’s presence, even in a place that was ever surrounded in Halloween festivities. In fact, she couldn’t wait to see everything for her very own eyes.
Sure she could make out a picture from the stories Sora told her, but seeing everything first hand was surreal, but a great feeling. Finally, they had accomplished something they had dreamed about since childhood, travelling other words. Nothing felt more natural and necessary than this, not in her whole life. She nodded, with a sincere smile. She hadn’t forgotten how sweet and caring her friend was, not to mention loyal, determined to fight for any cause. Especially the one to keep them together, and not to be torn apart again. Not that it mattered, as she knew even if that did happen once more, fate would always bring them back together, with the power of light that never dulled it’s ever lasting glow.
She looked at Sora as she dropped that little teasing, his facial expression shocked, still for about a few seconds. It made her chuckle, bringing her hand up to her mouth to muffle her inane giggling. Sora as so funny sometimes, even when being compared next to Riku, his ‘rival’. Stupid competitive boys, but it was fun to see them riled up, but she always let it go, as she never liked one better than the other. They were both her friends, the ones she shared everything with.
”Yep, of course you are! Now, onward, dear Mr. Hero” she giggled, taking his hand and walking down the path. Ah, to be a child again, or rather, to relieve her inner one.

Sora rolled his eyes in a playful manner in response to her teasing comment regarding her disbelief in his place on the Nice List. This was nice, he knew that he had probably said the same thing many times before over the last year and each and every time he had gotten to see his friends—but it really did feel wonderful to be able to be with his best friends again, joking and being teased like the good ol’ days. “Aw c’mon Kai, you know me! I’m good—I mean I can be bad too ya’know, I’ve been known to start trouble every now and then.” Of course he was lying about the last part of his statement, Sora was as innocent and naïve as they come—he wouldn’t have known how to start any real trouble even if he tried his very hardest. He was more the type of person who stopped trouble and mayhem from happening rather than be the cause of it.
The brunet Keyblade Master didn’t think this day could possibly get any better, he and Kairi were both on another world [granted, they were on ‘patrol’, but he didn’t think anything bad would happen anyway so there wasn’t too much to worry about], and traveling to other worlds had been a dream of their’s ever since they were young children inspired by the fact that Kairi hadn’t been from the Islands. Okay, there was one thing that could’ve made this a tad better—if Riku had been there with them, then the group would’ve been back together again doing exactly what they had planned together all those years ago.
His bright gaze narrowed in mock offense at the sound of her teasing giggles—he wasn’t really offended or hurt by her previous comment—well, he had been just a bit because he had always felt that Riku was a better person than he himself was. Riku had always been his role model, someone that he had looked up to—it seemed as if there was nothing that the older boy couldn’t do. But as the years wore on Sora had become less dependent on the idea of Riku being his role model, well, he still looked up to the older boy but not quite as much as he had when they were younger. Riku was first and foremost Sora’s best friend and it had been pointed out that they were both good at different things and in no way should have been compared to each other. He remembed the conversation he and Riku had had after they’d defeated Xemnas for the first time and they had thought that they would forever be trapped on the Dark Beach.
Shaking away the memory, he turned to Kairi with a bright grin, “You got it! Oh~! There’s something I want to show you! [/color]” He had brought up the fact that there were separate towns for the various holidays earlier in the conversation but now he had the sudden urge to show her the gateways to those other towns—and maybe even take her to visit them while he was at it. He’d only ever been to Christmas Town but he had always been curious to see what the other towns were like…[/blockquote] tagged: kairi words: 545 notes: sorry it's a little lame D:! look up, the stars are fading and i am still waiting here. [atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,505px,true][atrb=style, background: #FFA7FC, bTable] Kairi giggled, enjoying winding up her friend to a playful extent. It was even funnier when he lied, she could always tell, well almost it made her mischievous smile brighter than before. She knew Sora, pretty much all the way through. And he always made her smile, regardless of the troubles going on. Because she knew, that they would make everything right again. That was the way it as and would always be. The effortless smile appeared on her lips only for her friends, the very ones she had missed for so long. And...Teasing them just came as natural to her as smiling.
She meant well of course. For she could not wait to get started on this journey, with both of the boys. They dreamed alot when they were just children but they weren’t anymore. This was for real, real as the guillotine standing proudly in this bizarre town. Huh, she was certainly getting used to this whole travelling from world upon world. For she had no idea what sights she would have to feast upon. For now, she took to Sora’s lead quite comfortably, as she would just end up lost. And that was not option here, as she isn’t really used to the locals and their devious little tricks.
”Something to show me? What is it? Better be interesting or else..just kidding!” she chimed excitedly, wide-eyed and impatient as ever. As it that Christmas town? She hoped so, that would be fun to explore. Nether less, she was behind him, following him like a stray little puppy.
