Staff Applications

Well, it has to be done. Me and Anthony are the only active staff who get on and do things/care for the site, so it’s about time we got new staff who will be active and help out with the site—accepting members, advertising, contests, and helping me come up with site-wide plots and events for people to participate in.

In order to apply as Staff you have to be active, which is a given, and you have to have been on the site for at least a month. We don’t want people randomly joining the site just so they can be staff members—because it won’t work that way.

I’m currently in need of 1 Mod

I will be accepting who I think is well suited for the position and who I think will be best for the job. If a ton of people apply for the Mod position but I only see 1 or 2 people that I think would do really well as Staff then I’ll pick those 2 and either leave the other 2 Mod positions open or close the Staff Application process for the time being.

If you don’t get picked, don’t through a fit please, it doesn’t mean that I don’t like you [because I happen to love everyone on this site <3! You guys have no idea how happy it makes me to see you guys still hanging around and playing part in keeping FD active with your lovely plots and posts <3!]

As a Staff member you’ll be able to read things that are posted in the Cave of Awesome (the area on the OOC that ONLY staff can read/post in), help come up with site-wide plots, events and contests, edit posts [like, if someone doesn’t do their Stats right or something of that nature you can go in and edit the post to fix their mistakes] and just all around help out others who may have questions pertaining to the site/etc. It’d also be helpful if you could help advertise every once in a while >.>! xD

Why should you be picked: I've had experience as an admin, global mod, and mod on various sites. Most frequently, I've helped develop plots, come up with events, or simply advertise. With maybe a little guidance on the standards and some basic lines to watch the crossing of, I could probably do character apps as well.
How often will you be on here: I try to be on daily from around between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM GMT -5

How often will you be on here: I'm almost always on here.
As a little added information to that, I lie within the GMT-5 timezone as well. And I'm usually lurking between 1-2PM untill about 4-5AM most of the time.

Why should you be picked: Because it's me? The most obvious reason would be because I'm just about always lurking even when I shouldn't be.Other then that, I've helped with other sites and I would love to help out around here too.

I understand the stats pretty good, enough that I'd be able to fix it up if someone doesn't quite know haw to do them. And I could probably fix up and/or help with anything the other members need assistance with.

I've helped with plots and such on other sites before as well. I'm not the most creative person around but I'll definitely try to help with plots and events and such.

Anywho. I'd be happy to help in any way that I can. And even if I'm not a mod I still plan to help the other members when I can.

So I think that's about all I have to say. That I can think of right now at least. Oh yeah, and it really is me. Honest. I just wanted an account specifically for being a mod if I'm chosen.

Why should you be picked: I'm fairly decent with coding. While that's not saying much in comparison to some others on the site, I pick up on things pretty quickly.

I do a lot of writing so I'd like to say that I'm also fairly competent when it comes to plots or whatnot. I understand the way things should be around here (other than the battle system which I'm still a tad shaky on >.>) and I do really love this site. I'll warn you now that I've never been a moderator or an admin or had any kind of staff experience but, like I said before, I pick up on things pretty quickly.

How often will you be on here: I'm on here nearly 24/7 when I'm not sleeping. Obviously this doesn't include the times when I do have other things to attend to, but this place is my equivalent of facebook. I refresh the page like ever... 2 minutes hoping something new will have happened. XD

Why should you be picked: Hmm....I know there are people who could totally do this better than me, but I just thought it was worth a shot ^^ I'm pretty active on here. I love the people here. Hmm...I've been an admin and global mod for about five years on various Kingdom Hearts sites [stemming from my own when I was fourteen]. And I just thought it would be fun to help out ^^
How often will you be on here: Pretty much on here everyday. I do have homework and work and school and such as everyone does, but I'm usually lurking >.> XD

Why should you be picked: I have a lot of experience with the battle system. In fact I have helped Anthony with it in the past, granted I didn't do much. But my knowledge of the system is superior to most other people, excluding Anthony. I also have an army of PC villains under my control. And it would be a huge benefit to have it under staff control. Even though it unofficially is. >> //Goes back to spamming Jade's inbox.

On top of this I am an experienced moderator. My two best examples (And only examples. //shot) are Zapdos Zulu (Formerly a Global Moderator) and SoulxSociety (Formerly a Moderator). I became a staff member on ZZ in April of 2010, and officially quit that December. During my time there I saved the site once or twice, re hauled parts of the evolution system, & created the happiness system, Team Rocket System, and most of the Radio Tower. I have been constantly inactive on SxS for a year now. Last December Maymay, the current owner, asked me to help him revive the site. While there I did the typical staff duties, advertising, and working on the plot and parts of their battle system. Although it was mainly making pretty lists. If you would like more in depth information about my previous experiences just ask me through a PM.

How often will you be on here: I'm here a lot. Unless my internet dies I am constantly checking up on the place. My time zone is EST, the same as Jade and a few other members. Furthermore I am probably going to end up working 3rd shift, generally 10pm-7am. So I will be on here at odd times. Which is good for a moderator. Currently I am jobless, but when I find a job my time here will decline. Mainly because I am looking for full time.

Why should you be picked: Hmmm well I'll just get to the point on this one... Throughout my 5+ years of RPing on forums I have been staff on many boards. I was the founder and Senior Admin of a board known as Naruto Bouken back in the day when Naruto RP was still highly popular. We were a large site with very active members until people started drama and activity on the site declined...(I hate drama)... I was then a moderator on a site called Saphyre Blue Project... Sadly the site never really took off as the idea behind it, while good, wasn't really in demand. The next position I held was moderator on a site known as Kon Kessha, a OC Bleach RP board. This board was active and well liked for a time but the owner of the site apparently had a power control issue and soon stripped all mods of their powers before leaving the site and handing it over to others. I had left by this time but I have checked back and the site is still somewhat active. I was then a moderator on a site known as Spirit Rebellion, another OC Bleach RP, and was eventually promoted to Admin then Owner after the original owners left the site due to disagreements with members... The site was then nearly destroyed by the other moderators and admins whom had disliked the original owners and I have since shut down the site... Yes I know this all looks bad but personally I think it was just bad luck... I doubt anything along those lines will ever occur here and I'll be damned if I let it >_>. I love this site so far and I will not see it die!

How often will you be on here:Normally I do my best to check in multiple times throughout the day unless something comes up in my real life doings that takes priority. I generally tend to be around after 12pm EST and usually don't go to bed until around 4am EST so I should be on periodically throught the day between those hours. Should I get a job that with change but when that time comes I will let you know when my hours are and when I will be active.

Why should you be picked: I am experienced in modly duties because i'm a mod/or was a mod on at least 4-5 sites before this one i am currently a profile mod and an ideas manager and I'm almost always and don't juggle that many sites either so i'm pretty good at being here all the time and i love doing profiles and such and can recognize when a profile is amazing and wouldn't go through the hesitation of complimenting it but not only that but i love coming up with ideas like it's something i do on another site Hence the title of idea manager, I love the idea of being able to do these things as a job. I may not have the best roleplaying out there but if there's anything i have a passion for its reading which is something ill need when picking out errors, And i'm finally starting to get the hang of this role-playing buisness. Hope you'll accept me as a mod.
How often will you be on here: I am on this site literally every day at about @;30 on the weekdays eastern time and like 11:00 in the morning too when i wake up because this place rocks. <3

THE SHORT VERSION!

I am experienced with ProBoards coding and skinning, as well as experienced in moderating a site, I'm a literate roleplayer (good example for newer roleplayers), and I'm friendly.

THE LONG VERSION!

I was writing fairly well by the time that I was in first grade; fiction was my forte, and my strength in it has only grown since then. Generally, I write 400 + words in a post, which would set a good example for people to follow to make replying to their thread easier. I'm literate (grammar Nazi, go me!), and there are usually only one or two grammatical errors in my posts. Generally, I reply to threads that I'm involved in within forty-eight hours of it becoming my turn; I'm usually quite punctual, though lately I've suffered from a lack of Kingdom Hearts muse, but I believe it's returning.

I've coded and skinned several sites (examples are Warriors of ThunderClan and The Cruentus Luna), and I was an Administrator / Moderator on several other sites (including the two examples above and a couple of Wetpaint sites). I am thorough and realistic when it comes to accepting bios; I'm not a skimmer, so I can ensure that a bio that I accept was accepted because it deserved to be. I'm always on top of the ball and searching for jobs to do, and I tend to advertise whenever I have no posts to make (in the past year I've made a minimum of 400 advertisements for various sites).

I am a very friendly and useful member; I usually know many of the happenings of the site, such as activity checks and auditions of any kind, and I am helpful when it comes to guiding new members to where they need to be. I'm always happy to give pointers, and just as happy to get pointers from senior members. I love to be involved in a site, so being Staff at Final Distance would certainly do that for me. My characters are all well thought-out and provide for an excellent and entertaining thread; I play canons very well, and I respect any authority or power I have over certain aspects of my characters (i.e. Elixean, the Nobody, with her wind power, and Scar, the Heartless of the Pridelands, ruling over hyenas). I never spam, in-character or out, and I try very hard to never powerplay or god-mod.

See, that's probably the huge reason why I shouldn't be picked as Staff. Unfortunately, I hit a rut in my roleplaying recently, so I stopped coming online for a while. However, I believe my muse is coming back, so if I can get all my threads caught up to then I'm going to be on every day or most every day, as I was before. :B
