She generally wears a long black jacket, the sleeves much too long for her and blue short shorts. On her feet are brown wide collared shoes. Around her neck is a small erase board that she uses to write with.
PERSONALITY:
Mai is mute. She can hear perfectly fine but her voice was taken from her. Therefore as a telepathic mage, she can talk to people as if she was the one talking. When she talks, it sounds much like an innocent child. But she does not use this technique often, and instead prefers to draw on her white erase board to talk. She misspells a lot of words my mistake, but she tries her hardest to make do.
Mai is easily lovable but she is very shy and withdrawn because of her rough experiences. She tries to hide it behind a fake smile, but when she is around people who care about her, she truly is smiling. She loves making new friends and talking to others about what they could do next for fun. This doesn’t mean she is incapable of feeling angry. Though she is a sweet girl, don’t mock her or her friends. She will show you what it means to be a mage.
HISTORY:
Mai was born and raised in Traverse town, and has spent her entire life there. She developed the gift of magic very ealy, but her parents expected it. Her father was a very skilled mage while her mother was his assistant and apprentice. Her mother, though extremely clumsy, was everything to her father. And when Mai was finally born they thought their family was more than simply perfect.
But that was when tragedy could cause the greatest damage. As Mai grew, so did the frequency of heartless attacks in Traverse Town. Mai had very little fears, and none of those fears were the heartless. And when she finally did meet one of the heartless, she greeted he creature like she would a small gentle puppy. The heartless attacked her slashing at her. It cut her throat and instantly knocked her unconscious. When she came to, her father was sleeping at her bedside. She went to say daddy, but every time she tried to talk no noise came.
She tried to yell and scream and to her horror, she could make no noise. She broke into tears and cried into her pillow which brought upon her one true gift. Telepathy. ‘Daddy… I’m sorry daddy… I’m so sorry daddy…’ He could hear her… but not through her voice but in his head. She felt her father grab her and hug her as tight as she could. She learned much about the heartless that day, about their dangers and about what they did. And when she had learned… she only feared them less.
When she entered school none of the kids wanted to play with the mute kid who carried around a board to talk. Her father had told her that using telepathy was an invasion of privacy and should not be used unless it is an emergency or it is her parents. But some kids didn’t understand why she couldn’t talk and made fun of her for it. They drew all kinds of indecent things on her boards, but Mai never told her teacher. She simply erased them and continued with her day. She always told her father she was having the best time with her friends, but she truly had no friends.
But it was when her mage ability flared that cemented her as a “freak”. It was when she was in sixth grade that some kids from school decided to steal her board. By that time she was able to read the minds of others without much difficulty at all. And when her board had been stolen from her she became very upset and began crying while desperately looking for it. And the longer it was was gone the angrier she grew until she could no longer take it. She read the mind of every individual at once, which for any normal mage should have killed her. But her anger held her own mind intact and when she discovered the perpetrators she approached them.
They laughed at her inability to talk. She could hear it in their minds. “Stupid mute girl,” they called her. This stupid mute girl however lit a desk next to them on fire. And then in their minds, she screamed, “GIVE IT BACK! NOW!” All the kids nearly froze and one out of pure terror gave her her board. Mai pulled out the marker that she used and drew a smiley face with the words thank you under it.
Now, much older she wanders Traverse town, finding new things to draw and new friends to have fun with. Her father told her not to go too far from the first district, but she had been doing it for years now. What he didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him right?
’Reading people’s minds is fun to do…’

’Rarely do I get to go out by myself, but today?’[/b]
Time to wake up to an adventure.[/color]
Mai smiled contently as she sat cross-legged staring up at the sky. It was a beautiful thing… it seemed so endless so open… so vast. She was at her drawing pad and her various pencils trying to get an accurate picture of what she saw. Her father walked up on her from behind. “Maiuria, it’s one o’clock.” Mai turned backed and gave him a shining smile and turned back to the sky. ‘But… this is the best time to draw the stars. They are beautiful when you look at them long enough.’ Though Mai could not speak, her telepathy conveyed every bit of emotion that she felt looking up at it.
Her father smiled to himself and sighed. “Don’t stay up too long.” Mai nodded and continued to draw. She yawned lightly but tried to shake off the sleep. It was not time for that yet. Not before she could finish. A sudden wind blew in and the candle next to her went out. She sucked her teeth and pointed a finger. The fire ignited once again as she continued to type. Mai wondered if anyone else could see what she saw. As the minutes flew by she was starting to get colder and tightened the orange scarf around her neck. If only she could see what those stars were… if only she could get a good look up close… If only…
She awoke suddenly and yawned. She looked around and shielded her eyes from the bright sun. She groaned… she had not finished the drawing she had started. When she looked down Mai saw half of the sky completely finished while the other side began the with sketching. She tossed her utensils to the side and got up scratching her head. She started for the stairs but noticed the walls of her room suddenly. “…D…DAAAAAAD!” Her father ran up the stairs and nearly broke down the door. “What? What i- oh.” The ceiling was an exact replica of the sky that she had seen last night. “How d-“ “You’re a mage, Maiuria. This is part of growing up… you get blackouts and tend to do extraordinary things during.”
Mai sighed. “I was going to ask ‘How do I get pencil markings off a wall?’” Her father laughed and snapped his finger. A pail of soapy water and sponge floated behind and past him and dropped to the floor in front of her. “All yours. Have fun.” Mai groaned. It wasn’t even eight and she already had a busy day ahead of her.
