Height: 5'5"
Weight: 128 lbs.
Hair Color/Style:
Koda has long, silver hair that she wears, to say the least, uniquely. In the back, most of her hair is gathered into a braid and looped into a circle. On the left side of her head, she leaves a section of her hair free from the braid, and has a flower threaded through it. Her bangs are parted on the far right and frame her face well.Face Claim: NieR's Kainé
Brief Overview:
Standing at five foot five, Koda is a curvaceous young woman. With this and her strength residing in thin, wiry muscles throughout her body, she seems like a normal and harmless woman. She is attractive in an unearthly fashion, a trait passed down from her grandfather. The mako has nearly been bred out of her blood and almost completely out of her eyes, leaving them a sharp but strange gray. However, Koda retains both the silver hair and, often, the half-lidded look of arrogance and smarter-than-you.

Likes: her family, sarcasm, combat, motion, solitude, self-worth
Dislikes: weakness, laziness, ignorance, being empty-handed, those without honor
Strengths: intelligent, athletic, thorough, independent
Weaknesses: has a temper, poor manners, aggressive, often cold like her grandfather
Weapons:
Koda wields dual, rectangular-shaped blades with serrated edges to tear on contact.Overview: Koda's front, the one she tries to uphold, is one very similar to her grandfathers. For the most part, she is quite indifferent to everything around her. She is cold and distanced from those she meets and more often than not will not speak unless they give her reason to. Koda meets gazes with half-lidded gray. She speaks with harsh or mocking tones and cares little to how they effect those on the recieving end.
But this side of Koda is often broken by traits from her father. Koda is a very passionate young woman. Despite her efforts, she has trouble refraining from acting on strong emotions. When she is excited, it shows. And when she is angry, it's felt. She is not unaccostomed to shouting or pounding her fists. In fact, Koda has a very large heart but she considers it a weakness and does not let it show. When it does reveal itself, it is around her family, or what's left of them. Outside of that, affection is not an emotion often seen on her face.

Father: Seine Strife
Siblings: ____ Strife
Homeworld: Edge
Overview:
You've probably never heard of Edge and it's probably better you haven't. Edge had settled closer to The End of the World than any planet rightfully should and it had suffered the consequences for it's poor position in the stars. With only a small population to better it from The End of the World, Edge was thick with disease and poverty. Unlike most worlds, it didn't come in a nice sphere. Instead, it was lopsided and broken, as if a large portion of the world had been ripped away. It looks inhospitable from the outside and the dreary, run-down atmosphere only tripled when you touched down on land. There were rumors that once, it had been a whole world. Once, it had had a different name. Once, it had not been so awful.
But whenever that was, if it ever was, had long since passed and now, even Edge is something mostly forgotten.
But it was there that decades ago, Yazoo had arrived. And it was there that he had fathered a child. And it was there that the child had remained, even after Yazoo had left and he was condemned there then, when his mother left him too. He was named Seine and from the beginning, he was bitter with his life. He had been rejected by his parents, whether they had died or ran off. No better were the other children to him, the adults, for his silver hair marked him as a sin to the people of Edge. He grew distant and cold and took after his father, sadism marked by cool indifference.
Seine grew up and, unlike his father who had been pinned down his whole life in search of a mother they couldn't have, he advanced. He met a woman, Roya, who eased his pain, and gave her a peace of mind equal to that Yazoo had received with his brothers. With Roya, Siene fathered two children of his own, a boy and a girl.
It is the girl that we will follow, Koda, born in deep into the hours of the night during the most violent snowfall of a season nineteen years past. Whether it was from the storm or passed from her grandfather to her father to her, there was a trace of frigidness in her too. From the beginning, Koda was more attuned to her father. Roya's warm heart may have soothed Siene, but opposites do not always attract. Koda strayed away from her mother, finding a strange solace in the cold love from her father. Having never had love from a parent himself, Seine was not sure how to treat his children, even watching Roya. But it did not deter Koda. She stuck by his side, occasionally going as far as to fight against her mother to stay there. For the most part, she was a quiet child, cool eyes and cold smiles. The only time she expanded past them was with rage, violent and unbridled, she would act on any emotion that burned her too deeply.
Her entire life was shaped by the ice and fire of her personality. The friends she made were few but close. Her family was more important to her than anything, and any comment made against them was met with her silver tongue or her scarred fists. She grew there too, from schoolchildren fights to concentrated martial arts, Koda found she had a natural talent in movement, in striking and blocking, in the art of her body. She grew strong and smart in her run-down world, a world that didn't deserve her, or her family.
Whatever facade they had of something like peace was shattered from the moment the heartless found their world. The struggle did not last long. Those that were able to fight were cut down quickly or forced to retreat. Koda and her family were of the latter. And Edge, already in ruin, was put to rest.
Edge was lost.
Somehow, Koda survived. Choking on tears and rage and fear, Koda woke in an unfamiliar world, ignorant to everything around her. She had watched her mother and her father die. She had seen her world end. But like her father and her grandfather, Koda is strong. In the turmoil of her emotions, she has picked herself up and she has begun to search.
Because she can feel her brother. He is alive.
And Koda will find him.

Roleplay Sample:
She purses her lips against the fist pressed to her mouth and wonders if she made the right decision.
The thoughts don't often leave her. Right now, her eyes taking a no doubt short break to stare unfocused across the room, Tien wonders if this is right. She has always questioned herself. For years, it was the sole reason her father's patriarchal ideas of family were upheld. It was the reason he could take and take and Tien would stand down and let him. The only confidence she finds is in knowledge. In holding a book in her hand and absorbing what it has to whisper to her and holding those printed words tight as if it'll make the world become as simple as black text on white paper. But people steal, people fight, people die. And right now, right here, Tien can't do anything about it. Sometimes she wonders how one leads to the other. Most of the time, she understands.
She is a curious girl. When her peers worry about midterms, about friends and dates, she worries about the world. She worries about her future. She worries and hates her parents. She worries that she will not be happy. She worries that, in the end, she is helpless. She worries that she can't save anyone.
She wonders when she decided she needed to be the hero.
Why?
Strangely violet eyes click into focus like the shutter of a camera. They lift from corner of the room to drag around it, observing. She remembers the slice of cheesecake she'd ordered, if only so they wouldn't kick her out when she spent half the day reading. The hand at her mouth drops to the table. She debates, then takes the fork, cuts off a piece of the dessert and pops it into her mouth. The taste is divine and Tien closes her eyes as she chews.
Her fingers brush the pages of the open book before her.
Her eyes open again and she knows, right or wrong, she's chosen and she'll finish it. She leans back in her chair. She finds her place. She reads until the world falls away and there is nothing but black and white. She doesn't hear that voice again, whispering in the back, under the words that fly off the page.
What are you trying to prove?
