War walked through the Darkness her mind still filled with thoughts from the meeting with the other Horsemen.Had they noticed anything odd about her? Chaos was usually so insightful, would he have any idea what was happening inside her heart?
Normally the threat of Chaos' disprovable was enough to set her back, but this time she wanted something more then just to end the worlds. She wanted Rebecca and almost didn't care about the rest.
Of course nothing would change the women known as War so easily. She still loathed a vast majority of humanity, only respecting those who fought rather then sat back to be conquered. She had never understood how so many people could leave their fate in the hands of someone else.
The portal of Darkness blossomed around her and faded a second later, leaving her standing in an alley way in Traverse Town. She chewed her lip nervously. She hadn't gone back to a lover in so long she had almost forgotten how to do it. What if Rebecca wasn't there?
She confidently moved through the streets until she found the same building. Her mind immediately flooded with the memories of what she and Rebecca had done. She became keenly aware of the warmth in her loins and pushed the thoughts away lest she embarrass herself.
She walked through the building arriving at the stairs. She came to the door that Rebecca, in theory, waited behind. She brought her hand up and paused. She almost didn't knock, almost walking away. She sighed lightly and Seraph knocked on the door.

Rebecca had known the risks of the whole mission that had landed her hear. That she'd have to pretend she was something she wasn't. What she hadn't thought out and realized was that after a year or so playing that part, she had gotten comfortable in it. Sure she went back to this but, it flared up and she realized that. It had forced it's way out with Seraph and all that. There was one thing her mentor, her idol, the person that protected her and set her on this path regretted. That she had had no childhood, and that in a sense, she was no longer human. She didn't feel things the way most did. Rebecca on the other hand wasn't trained from age 6 to fight, she remembered a real family, normal emotions, all of it. It was something the other spartan's envied at times, that she could interact better with others outside the group. They were understanding that while it made her seem weak, there were times it made her far stronger. But then their were her orders. They went along with her going out of the way more because it meant more of a challenge, more fun, which even if it were a joke she just couldn't view it as such. They were raised with the idea war and all was almost like a game to them. But they had also been shielded from what the covenant did on their training base, as a child she had seen it first hand. She knew better then them what it looked like to see blood everywhere, bodies in pieces, all of it, and at her age, she hadn't been trained for that.
But under cover with the rebels, she had to let some of it go, and it had slowly eroded away. As much as she had stepped out of the shower now, she left it running, wiping steam from the mirror. She had trouble recognizing the woman there. She didn't see herself, she saw the woman that had been with the rebels. That had such relaxed standards and views, that at times hadn't felt a thing when killing someone, or in fact enjoyed it. The chaos, the symphony of chaos and death and destruction, someone who fought just to fight. No ideology, nothing to protect, no purpose, just fought to fight, to be part of that symphony. And somehow, she had been fine with it after a while. She could hear their voices as she closed her eyes, calling her the "daughter of mars", which had lead them to call her just plain mars. The voices started getting louder and louder, but then she heard another voice, one slightly lower then what she was used to, an heir of seduction, a sound of general evil and twistedness, a voice she had heard for a year say and mean things she never thought she could, her own. Her own voice in that twisted calm voice calling her by the name it was called, a voice Seraph had heard much of, and parts of a personality she had experienced. Her names War, Mars, like your true calling the voice said clearly amongst all the other voices.
"SHUT UP!!!" Rebecca shrieked as her eyes shot open and she put her fist through the mirror, breathing heavily as she tried to regain her composure. She slowly pulled her hand out, looking at it and seeing a couple really minor scratches. The increased muscle density from the procedure and other changes had lessened it greatly, instead of shredding her hand it looked more like she had maybe nicked herself with a razor. She went over to the shower and let the water wash off what little blood their had been, and the cuts were so minuscule one would barely notice them at all, let alone with only a couple.
She turned the shower off and finished drying off completely. She put her undergarments on, but chose to only pull the shorts up and remain in her bra as far as a top. She walked out of the steam filled bathroom and just went and lay on the bed, but only for a couple minutes before there was a knock on the door. She got up and opened it seeing Seraph on the other side. "Seraph" she said happily, her voice slightly higher then usual, a more cheerful and happy tone as opposed to the straight forward even tone when they first met, or the darker tone when they had started with the rest. She wrapped her arms around the other woman's shoulders and pressed her lips against hers. More lovingly and affectionately then the previous "lets get to the bed way" of before she left. She didn't much realize or care she only had the bra and shorts on in the hall way right now, she wanted to try and be herself, the real her, and this was something the real her would do and act like, it helped her calm down a bit, not that War probably couldn't feel Rebecca's heart thumping and body warmer then usual from the adrenaline of the events leading to smashing the mirror.

War placed her hand on Rebecca's neck and noted her beating heart and the raised temperature. It caused her to raise an eyebrow. Of course she had just bathed, so it was possibly just exercise. War's heart never raced like that anymore, nor did her body temperature change. It was one of the many things she missed about being human. Of course Chaos had always reminded her that they had surpassed such human needs.
The hole in her heart seemed more akin to torture then strength. That keen awareness in all of the differences, all that she had lost. It was more like this state was torture at times then some glorious ascension. However she could not argue that she was stronger now. And if she didn't think about it she could ignore the pain.
She broke the kiss off and looked into Rebecca's eyes. "I told you I would be back, so what plans do we have for today? It's been so long since I have dated someone I have quite forgotten what it is that you do."
More to the point, not only was she out of practice but the paradigm was quite different then the time she was used to. After all War knew almost nothing about technology, and had never seen a movie in her life.
