if you could only see the beast you made of me [atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,505px,true][atrb=style, background: #000080, bTable] This was not right. It was cruel. Every fiber in her body told her to stop, to let them go. Her blue lips parted, wanting to scream out for them to run. Even though she knew they could not outrun the Thanatos. Nor could they escape her, it's Commander. "I, Regret, in the name of the Grand Lord sentence you to death for acts of high treason upon the Pierced Moon." Was all Anna could say. Her words were dry, without emotion. Not because she lacked any, it was due to the fact that this was the fifth time the death sentence had escaped her lips. Her grip on Morte, the wicked sword, tightened as she spoke. The blood of an innocent had already stained this blade tonight.
Icy blue glanced to the two bodies that already lay in the corner. A pool of dark blood already around them. One was a true traitor. He was a Captain within her Lord's army. One who thought to defect to whom ever would take him. The woman that laid dead next to him was his wife, who attempted to shield him with her own body. Both of them were unarmed during the attack. So was the boy Regret just sentenced to death. Yes, a child. He was only six, and was the off spring of the traitor. Yet Anna's Lord commanded that they all die, the entire family. Thus they would die, and as the Commander of the Thantos she would see to it that Darkwing's wishes were fulfilled.
Drawing a white cloth, with the intention of wiping the blood from her blade. She had no interests in taking the child's life herself. "You," She said, eyes turning to one of the Thanatos in the room. The man, dressed all in black, did nothing. He knew the price for even the slightest breach of protocol. "Finish the boy." She commanded, bring the white cloth to her dull sword. Blue eyes lingered on the sword for only a few seconds. The dull steel seemed to be devoid of any light. Without another thought she began to wipe her blade off, before plunging it into it's sheath on her waist.
"Ma'am, the deed is done." The Thanatos member said, turning to face his mistress with a bloody blade in hand. With that Anna turned to leave. "You are dismissed. I shall talk to our Lord." Was all she left with her troops. The woman knew they would dare not to lay a single finger on her, and that they would be awaiting for her when she had her next set of orders. Which for once she did not have. Lately her Lord had been keeping her busy. Rarely did she even have the chance to sneak away to her own secret apartment and even rest for a few hours. It mainly had to do with Thanatos. The were the secret police, putting an end to all plots to dethrone Darkwing within his own people. And lately a lot of the humans started to think it would be a good idea to be get rid of the omnicidal vampire.
Without fear Anna walked through the Dark City, believing that any of the Heartless that would attack her would soon meet with a swift death. It was not long before she arrived at the Headquarters of Thanatos. A small underground bunker. After entering a password into a small keypad adjacent to one of the many sliding doors, Regret let herself in. Crystal blue eyes looked around the cold cement center of the HQ. Computers, and monitoring screens littered the room, and a single door to her own private office. People rushed about the office, trying to finish one task or another. Wishing only for rest, Anna made her way to her own office. Hopefully she would be able to sleep for a little while tonight.

"Well, that was certainly over with quickly." Came a voice that Regret would find very familiar. "The least you could have done was throw the boy to Legion. He's been complaining for days about how he's had nothing to eat except for the nobodies and heartless that stalk around here." Darkwing's hand laid its fingers onto Regrets shoulders. Darkwing leaned in so that Regret would feel his breath on the back of her neck as he spoke. "You seem unusually troubled by your job. I respect your courage, Regret. Your siblings have such easy jobs compared to yours." Darkwing fully knew Regret's feelings for him.
Darkwing had watched every kill Regret had made since they'd located themselves on this world. He hadn't had the time before, now he had little else to do. He had each of the commanders out doing a job except for Legion, but that was because Legion was like many drugs. Powerful to cure an affliction, buts elf destructive when used to heavily. "So tell me, Regret, has this job started to take its toll on you? I can't imagine how stressful it must seem." Darkwing chose his words carefully, straddling the line between seeming as if he knew how Regret truly felt, and as if he was completely oblivious, and simply referring to the stress of the tasks she had to perform.

if you could only see the beast you made of me [atrb=cellspacing,0,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,505px,true][atrb=style, background: #000080, bTable] A hand fell down to her waist, where her small concealed dagger was kept. It took every fiber in her body not to grab the thing and drive it into whom ever was speaking. After all it was her natural reaction. It was how agents of Iuri were trained. Yet the voice stopped her, more accurately it's owner. This was Darkwing, her lord, and the love of her life. No matter how natural the reaction was, it would never succeed. At least not fully.
The words of Legion brought up anger within her. Oh how she wanted to slaughter that disgusting creature. He was sick, pure darkness. Yet her master always seemed to pay attention to him, make sure he had everything he wanted. Anna only wanted one thing, the very thing she could not have. With a click of her tongue, Regret began to speak. "Legion is more then capable of finding his own meals," The woman started, putting emphasis on food. What Legion ate was a twisted form of cannibalism. Her Master at least gracefully drank the blood of humans. Legion would eat anything, as long as he could mangle the corpse yet. "And I am sure he is more then capable of digging through my trash. I believe it is his own living quarters."
Regret would spare no expense on Legion's part. After all one of her biggest regrets was not killing him when she still had the chance. Yet the soft breath of Darkwing on her neck eased her anger, if only slightly. She wanted to take another step back. To be just that much closer. Yet her legs were like jelly beneath her. Incapable of moving with the presence of such a man behind her. The woman's heart skipped a beat when Darkwing praised her. Her courage, her job it all meant so much to her that Darkwing was recognizing her strengths. With eyes locked dead ahead the Commander of Thanatos went on. "I live to serve you, My Lord. No task is too troubling. As long as you command me, I shall serve the Pierced Moon."
With that Regret's head turned to the side. So that she could face her Lord, if only slightly. Cold crystal blue eyes locked onto the ancient vampire. Yet underneath the lifeless exterior was a suffering woman. A woman who was sick of her job, sick of the lies that she was. She had no sleep in the past two days, personally seeing that every horrid tasks of the Thanatos was successful. She wanted a break, to rest. To sit down on her ass, and down a tub of cookie dough ice cream while watching the latest romantic comedy. Yet Anna could never say that to Darkwing. What if he thought her to be weak? "Sir, I am still capable of any task you may need me for."

"I'm right here you know!" Legion called from around the corner.
"Don't mind him, he does and goes where pleases. As long as he productively harnesses his impulses, then I'm pleased with him." Darkwing said. "All he asks for is souls to dine on, and the blood of several virgin goats ever full moon." How often that full moon was tended to depend entirely on the world. Darkwing quickly decided that he should get to the point of the visit. Regret wasn't being subtle at all about what orders she was hoping for exactly. "Tell me, Regret, do you remember a boy by the name of Xarido?" Darkwing asked.
"As I'm sure you know, around 3 years ago, the brat left our forces without a word. I have recently discovered his location, but am far to engrossed in other business to go after him myself," Darkwing said, "I can only humbly ask the leader of Thanatos to capture him. However, it is integral that you make one exception in your normal orders. You must not kill him. I need the traitor alive." Darkwing had never told anyone the importance of the boy, and he didn't intend to tell regret at this particular juncture. The fewer people that new the details of Darkwing's machinations towards his goal the better.

The tiniest bit of disappointment welled up within Regret as she heard Darkwing speak. She really wanted his orders to be something along the lines of putting that disgusting Legion out of it's misery. The thing was disgusting, and he was in it for nothing more then joy. Cold eyes stayed focused on Darkwing. She even ignored Legion's cry of annoyance, her Lord was now speaking. The woman remained quite, her cold eyes fixated upon Darkwing as he spoke. The only time she opened her lips was when he inquired about Xarido. "Yes, I recall him. He was the small child if I am not mistaken." The woman said.
Silence ensued from the woman once again. Listening to her masters orders. While he spoke, she focused more on her own thoughts. Xarido was a peculiar boy to begin with. As much as a warrior he may think himself to be, it was odd to see one so young within the military setting of Darkwing's army. Even more so that he was tasked with missions that a highly trained office normally ran. Without a team. When he left the army, Anna was given stern orders to not execute him in the name of the Pierced Moon. The request to find him, after three years was odd alone. Even more so because Darkwing wanted him alive, and that he wanted Xarido for himself. With that, Anna could only conclude one thing. Xarido was important to Darkwing.
The Commander of the Thanatos did not know how, but she knew he was far more important then a mere pawn. Which meant the success of this mission was vital to Anna's own plans. "Yes, my lord. I shall see to it personally that Xarido is returned to you." Normally the statement would be a hollow one. Regret personally took an interest in every single mission of the Thanatos, making sure that each one was execute with perfection. Yet this time she meant that she would not allow any other member of Thanatos to partake in the mission. It was far to fragile to entrust with the blood hungry war mongers she worked with.
Boldly the woman took a few steps forward, towards her desk. One hand ran along the surface of the well polished mahogany wood. Eyes lingering on the long fingers of a pianist. How Regret longed to quit her job, and settle down in some small peaceful world. Walking over to the other side of her desk, Anna took a seat within her comfortable office chair. Not because she disrespected Darkwing, but because her body was both sore and tired from the last few days of activity. "Will that be all my Lord? If so I would like to start searching for the young traitor." Anna finished, crossing her legs as she spoke.

Darkwing simply gave Regret a smile, as if he was oblivious to her intentions. Darkwing fully knew how Regret felt about Legion, but Darwing had his uses for Legion. The creature had a talent for mayhem, destruction, and slaughtering entire populations. Darkwing coolly approached Regret Regret's desk. He hooked a finger under her chin. "One more very important order, Regret. Before you go I have an order that is vital to integrity of this operation, and all those that occur beyond it." Darkwing said. "An order, that while it may seem so simple, can have devastating effects if not followed." Darkwing backed up from Regret. "Get some rest. You look as though you haven't slept in two days." Darkwing said. "Even I need to sleep at times. Get some rest, and pursue your task with renewed vigor. Otherwise, I might have to support you with back up." Darkwing approached Regret's door. "And with your siblings away, and me so busy . . ." Darkwing let his voice trail off, and the sound of Legion catching and rather sloppily devouring something complete what he was going to say. "I think you'd much prefer to get some rest. Legion . . . tends not to leave survivors." Darkwing said.

It was nerve wracking to have a man you admired so much approach you. Ice cold eyes stayed locked on him, never flinching, never turning away. The fear of rejection because she was to weak ran rampant through her. Yet with the touch of his just finger, just under her chin, sent waves of excitement through her body. The finger, so close to her neck made her unsure if the vampire was simply going to slaughter her. Even with the fear, Anna could not prevent her walls from crumbling. Her feelings were as plain as day on her face. From the way she longingly looked at her Lord, or the soft smile on her face. "Thank you, Darkwing" She cooed, dropping formalities for the briefest second. She was barely able to hold back the sigh of relief as he gave her the newest set of orders. Rest was something she needed. Crystal blue eyes trailed after Darkwing as he left her office. It was not a subtle hint, that Legion would take her place if she failed. "That will not happen, Sir." Was all she could say, the hatred of Legion rising back up within her. Along with her ice cold features, which returned to defend herself from her rage towards the other Commander.
Rising to her feet, Regret softly closed the door behind Nightwing. Her forehead rested against the cold metal door. Is this really my life? She thought to herself with a sigh. With no one around, Regret allowed her guard to drop a second time in the night. The sorrow of a lover she could not have clear as day. Tossing her jacket aside, which left her in only a simple tank top and skirt, Anna threw herself in the small cot in the corner of her room. She was no stranger to long nights at the office, and this was the closest place she could call a home on this miserable planet. But hopefully, the misery would not last forever. Anna thought, comforting herself as sleep took her over.
