This is a roleplaying site and we require you to create an account with your character's first, middle, and last name with the proper capitalization. If you're playing a canon character that doesn't have a last or middle name then make one up. After registering you'll need to fill out the application and title the thread like this "LAST NAME, first middle" and wait for JADE or GIA to have a look at it; they will either accept you right away or tell you what needs to be fixed in order to be accepted. Once that's out of the way head over to the face claim and claim your characters playby.
This is a literate site and therefore there will be a minimum of 200 words per post to ensure that people aren't posting quick 1-2 sentence replies. However, if someone posts a 5-6 paragraph post you should at least try and match their length; if you put a lot of effort into your post it's pretty annoying when you get a measly paragraph in reply, isn't it? All posts should be written in 3rd person.
CONCERNING THREADS WITH MULTIPLE PEOPLE!
I figured it was common sense regarding posting order in threads with more than 2 people but I guess I'll have to specify the guidelines for this. You need to make sure everyone gets to post the same amount during each turn.
Here's an example.
Player 1: *posts*
Player 2: *posts*
Player 1 *posts*
Player 3: *posts*
Player 2: *posts*
PLayer 1: *posts*
Please don't get ahead of yourself. If you're player 1 and you see that player 3 has posted don't post right after that person if you know it's Player 2's turn to post.
There isn't a limit to the amount of characters that you're allowed to play, however keep in mind that you need to make sure that each character you take on stays active. In other words; only take what you can handle, so if that means only having 1-2 active characters as opposed to 3-5 semi-active characters then so be it. Also keep in mind the character ratios when creating a character, we don't want 12 girls and only have like 3 or 4 guys, do we? No, we don't. Also, there are canons who need to be adopted, so please take a look at those too. And please don’t hoard canons. If you play Riku, for example, then you shouldn’t also be playing Axel, Kairi and Roxas. Make sense?
You are limited to 2 canons.
You may play as many Original characters as you'd like, but for canons there is a limit.
No one is perfect, and neither are your characters. Everyone has faults and fears so please don't make some all powerful, fearless character--that's bound to get on everyone's nerves. No killing off other people's characters [unless you've gotten permission to do so].
Regarding Keyblades. No one can join as a Keybearer unless you’re playing a Canon Keybearer. If you want your character to have a Keyblade then please, once accepted, write out an Awakening for your character in the designated forum. Keybearers will be picked by the Staff whenever we see fit. We don't need a bunch of Keybladers running around so it may be months before we actually get around to deciding on a new Keybearer so please keep that in mind.
Also, only two keybearers per player.
Also, please take a look at the face claims and canon list before posting your application to make sure that your playby hasn't already been taken.
Please take a look at the Character Affiliation to see whether or not your character needs a Gummi Ship to travel or if they're able to use Portals of Darkness. You need to start either in Twilight Town, Traverse Town, or Radiant Gardens before you're able to travel to other worlds. Unless you're playing a canon character from Destiny Islands, in that case you're more than welcome to start out there.
Yes, everyone loves pretty graphics and signatures that showcase your character, in fact, we encourage that you decorate your account and posts with graphics. Signatures are optional but avatars are mandatory!. But be reasonable with the size of your pictures/graphics. We don't want you stretching the board. If they stretch the board they will be deleted, this is a fair warning and this rule certainly shouldn't be too hard to follow.
Not everyone is pro at photo manipulation so if you need help with graphics then post in the Graphics Request threads and maybe another member will help you out :3
I cannot stress enough the importance of staying active. We understand that everyone has lives outside of the computer and that you can't be on 24/7, but please remember to log in a few times a week and post with your characters. If you're going away for a while then post that you're not going to be on for a while in the Absence boards so that the admins know not to delete you for inactivity.
While logging in to remain active is great and all--you need to POST as well.
I know it seems like a lot, but we've had problems with people making canons and then not posting with them--they log in, but never post, and we can't have that here.
If you decide to leave the site please inform the admins so that your characters can either be deleted or put up for adoption so that someone else can use them. Another reminder, if you have 5 characters but only actively roleplay with 2 of them then your inactive ones will be deleted. As you can see it is extremely important to stay active.
Final Distance is rated PG-13 because swearing and violence happen in real life. But please don't use any of those in excess, we don't want every other word that your character says to be a swear word. So let's keep the site and your roleplaying clean, please?
